Dyno Question...
Dyno Question...
With the local SRT Club that i help run here in chicago, we have a date scheduled with a local shop to have a dyno event. We are primarily a SRT4 club, but now i have a srt6, a friend just picked up a srt8 magnum, and with the winter for most of the srt4 guys to work on their cars we are looking to see what gains have been done with the mods.
Now, i have been reading that there is a issue with putting a SRT6 on a 2 roller dyno? Even with the trac control off, a electronic tq management kicks in and limits the engine RPMS and power...
Is this so?
If so, how have others Dyno'd?
Is there a fix for this?
According to the dyno shop, some of the other Mercedes there have this issue and they have been able to by pass it by activating a "dyno" mode by way of the cluster. Essentially a sequence of buttons at start up switches to this. They hope it also works on the SRT6 but they can't say for sure. Has anyone hard of this on the "E Class" cars?
I have read a lot of the threads, but it appears that there seems to be some people that never had a issue, and some people that have.
Any clarification would be appreciated.

What many people have found is that the Crossfire engine cuts at 5,000 RPM with only the rear wheels turning on the dyno. But, you can have a MB service shop disable it with the use of the software in a matter of 5 minutes and then you will be able to do a full rev. dyno run. A good independent MB mechanic (not dealer) should only charge you $25-$50 to disable it.
