Default Sprint Booster

I purchased my SRT-6 2 weeks ago... love it. I have no complaints about the power, just the throttle response is a bit sluggish. For those of you that have a Sprint Booster, do you like it? Worth the money? My car is entirely stock at this point.

My second question is what company did you purchase from? I have read other threads about guys getting them on EBAY and don't totally like that idea. Thanks for the help.

E-bay is probably your best bet. I got mine through a group buy with the Mercedes group buy for $250/shipped. It came from Hong Kong. SLKfans is iffy.
He's over seas as well but it takes him a long time. I sent money to him in January and got a refund back late February because he could not locate any.

So no SLKfans...

How do you like yours? Worth the $250? Noticeable difference?

Yes, i was the first to buy the 451A Sprint Booster from him. He's getting some good feedback. I recommend him highly, I had the product in less the 6 days. Works great. He didn't include any instructions tho. But they can he found online here. I paid $280 + $20 shipping and it was worth every penny. The first day i felt like a whole other car, but as time goes on i notice it less. But I'm sure i could really tell if I didn't have it. I guess you just take it as normal when there is no lag, but you really notice is where there is. Buy one.

The guy on EBAY wants to sell me the 451A2 model... his response is below. He states that the engine light will stay on with the 451A model. Has anyone come across this?

Hi Kelvin, yes, we have BDD451A. However, does your car has the same engine as SLK 320, If so, the engine warning light will be on. Other buyers has the same car use BDD451A2. So, we recommend to use A2. Feel free to email us if you still have questions.

Another reply regarding the 451A2... anyone heard this before (below)? I think I am still leaning toward the 451A; seems like most the members have installed this version and liked it. Anyone have the 451A2?

Hi Kevin,
According to the manufacturer, A2 is a special version targeting AMG engine. BDD451A does not work on AMG/SRT-6 w/ AMG engine. You will see the improvement after installing A2.

Thank you.

The A2 is for the SRT, and the 451A is for regular automatic. If you don't have a SRT get the 451A. If you do get a 451A2.

So I am going to purchase the 451A2... does anyone NOT agree with this? Latest correspondence below...

Hi Kevin, I just double checked for you. SRT-6 has AMG engine. BDD451A2 is more suitable for you. I will email you once stock available.

Thank You,

You should get the A2. The BDD451 is for standard, but it's highly aggressive. The BDD451A is for automatics, but can be used on a standard because many consider the BDD451 too aggressive. (I have the BDD451A) The BDD451A2 is for those who have an SRT it has a better throttle response curve designed for the SRT, but some say it's less aggressive then the even the 'A'. There's a lot of information over at MBWorld.org.

I know most members allready have one, but a bulk order discount is available. I plan to order mine early next week.

Dear Mr Frame,

BDD451A2 is a special production for highly tuned MB models. With BDD451A2 you will still get a noticeable difference in throttle response however it is indeed a ‘’milder’’ version of the BDD451A.
Your car will work fine with both versions.

Regarding the bulk order price, we can forward you the prices we did in the previous group buys which is 2.024 EUR for 10 parts (202,4/part) and 3.835 EUR for 20 parts (191,75/part).
Those prices include shipping to US and customs brokerage fees.

Best Regards,

As the original developer/OEM has stated; This was tuned for the high end AMD MB's (much more HP) not the SRT's.

I'm not going to get into a lengthy conversation about why the SRT6 isn't considered a High-End AMD tuned MB. What I will tell you is that the BDD451A will function admirably well with a SRT6, Limited, and Standard Crossfires.

Some have found the response to aggressive in the BDD451 Manual versions, but few have found the response of the BDD451A too aggressive to handle. If you drive in high volume traffic areas (start/stop), and use your Xfire for everyday use driving in high usage areas you may wish to use the BDD451A2.

If not, buy the SB BDD451A; and if you find the SB BDD451A too responsive/aggressive for your taste, simply post it for sale on the XFi forum and you will sell it within hours.

Does anyone with an SRT have the A2? I wonder how big the difference is between the 451A and A2...

Didn't order it yet... I plan to get the A not the A2. I have yet to meet anyone with the A2, and if I don't like the A version I will just sell it.

I HAD MINE PUT ON YESTERDAY. (A2) It definitely makes a big difference on the acceleration response time. I took about 15 minutes. I got in the car started to drive away and had zero acceleration. I backed up opened the hood removed the battery cable for 2 minutes, put it back on allowing time for the computer to readjust and presto.

Works like a charm. Maybe my gas mileage will improve. LOL.

Just put on the 451A... installation was a breeze. IMO this is the best $250 mod... this is how the car was meant to drive. Ride is NOT as smooth, as it is much more jerky, but the pick-up is way worth it!!
