Default SRT fuel mileage

For those that drive their SRT daily, what kind of fuel mileage are you getting from it?

About 75% of my driving is highway and I get around 24.5 miles/gallon in my SRT6.

My commute is 90% Highway and I get 20-22. It all depends on if I was a good boy or not.

I don't drive mine daily, but I thought my recent trip info may help.
I took it on the longest drive I've ever taken it on this weekend - 250 miles round trip (mixed city/highway). Used 3/4 tank of gas (leaving me with 1/4).
I think that equals out to about 21 MPG, which was pretty impressive IMO.

Man, I'm slightly disappointed. I expected better. :-\

My V8 dakota gets 16 mpg around the city, 18 on the highway.

About 19 mpg or so, roughly half city and half highway. But we do use the A/C a lot in Arizona, and that extra load really does affect the mileage.

If you want good gas mileage go by a little econobox.

I don't know about others but I did not purchase this car for gas mileage. I purchased it to have fun. I would gladly trade MPG for HP & Torque.

I get 16-18 in city and 22-24 hwy. I do not skimp on the throttle.

I've got an econobox (2001 Neon), i just figured a V6 in a lighter car should get better mileage than my 4,200 lb truck with 3.92 gears.

Its not just a v6, its a v6 with a supercharger. All that extra HP made eats up the fuel. However, you could tune the engine/supercharger to give you better gas mileage at the expense of the extra HP.

The compressed air (extra oxygen) can be used to burn the fuel completely to give you better mileage.

OR

Burn more fuel effectively to give you more HP.

I understand that, but the car is STILL over 1,000 lbs lighter than my truck. :-\

My truck also only has a 4 spd automatic.

I should also mention that my dakota is modded, and makes over 270 whp/335 lb of torque and runs 13.50's or better in the quarter...
Bleh. Makes me wonder how rich these cars are tuned from the factory and what an SAFC and a couple hours on the dyno could do.

SAFC will do nothing for you. The ECU is a bit more complicated than what you get in a Honda or Nissan.

The cars do run rich from the factory which is why ECU tuning will net you some nice HP gains on the SRT6.

But again if you are worried about gas mileage a different car should be purchased. These cars are about fun not frugality.

I was just hoping for 25ish MPG highway, 20ish in the city...

What would a "chipped" car do?

I get around 19 mpg with 2/3 city 1/3 highway driving. On a trip from Barstow to Las Vegas I got 25 mpg. That was doing mostly 80 and includes several miles of stop and go traffic outside Las Vegas. So these cars are capable of doing 25ish on the highway.

I get about 16-18 mpg for short trips and in and out of town.
I did a 300 mile round trip a few weeks ago, I got caught in a little traffic a few times, but in the main I was able to cruise on the motorway...I got 29.50 MPG so I was really impressed !!!

Since fitting my K&N Air filters I have notice an improvement of about 2 MPG though.
