Muffler

I plan to remove the resonator this weekend. When I took my SRT to get a quote, the shop asked if I wanted to replace the stock muffler with a Magnaflow (for an extra $150) while he was charging me for labor. I am worried it will be too loud and give no hp increase.

Any thoughts on sound, power increase?? Anyone replace the muffler on an SRT while removing the resonator?

I would be sure they replace any pipes with matching 304 stainless. I would not want my stock stainless pipes transitioning to aluminized or ??? pipes.

See the pic at slk32.com, man that looks hack. get a Burnsstainless.com Y pipe and nice mandrel bent 304 2.75" pipe to the muffler.

Personally, I would keep the stock muffler, its tuned for the AMG. I dont think these cars sound good when they are real loud.
