iPod Integration
This has been covered at length, almost to the point of lunacy...
Searching is your friend, and there are DOZENS of threads on this topic already out there.
You would have better luck in the Electronics and Audio section of the forum, as an iPod is an electronic audio device...

I think I've spent about 2 hours searching for a solution for the iPod integration which for me is critical.
There are some tricks but it can be expensive and you won't get the same experience if you simply change the head unit.
The only problem is that besides just changing the head unit, you'll also lose the amp. I'm looking more into this.

You don't lose the amp and with my Pioneer Premier DEH-P880PRS, I think it's a better experience and it sounds better than the factory system. I have the wire harness connected directly into the amp, I didn't bypass the factory amp. It works fine. I also have the Pioneer iPod integration the CD-IB100 which integrates into the deck.

Thanks Daniel.
The head unit I've been looking at is the JVC KD-BT1 which has the same features but even includes built in Bluetooth for both phones and audio devices.
When I try to purchase it from Crutchfield I get the message that the deck needs to be wired directly to the speakers. Then I visited a local audio shop and they said they had issues getting a wiring harness for the Crossfire.
That is a nice looking head unit.

Like he said. You lose NOTHING with an aftermarket deck unless you choose otherwise, the factor amp works just fine with an aftermarket headunit. A good quality aftermarket will provide you MUCH more capability and a MUCH better listening experience. If you want the stereo to come alive, do the speaker wiring mod that is stickied in the Audio and Electronics section and put a good headunit in. I'm telling you it will the best thing you ever did and you will get your full iPod integration...
Here's mine! My only decision hurdle was finding one that matched the interior...

I got the same story from shops as well, and I found that they are just ignorant and don't know what they are talking about. Just another side affect of owning a rare and misunderstood car I guess. Trust me, you'll be fine. The instructions are here https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ead.php?t=9308
This how-to is very accurate and straight forward. That's what I used and all is well.
BINGO! It's very easy. People that don't know what they are talking about usually over compensate for their BS by telling you horror stories and made up "personal" experiences... If you know who to ask and where to go for your information, then you have the power...

This forum is amazing and the reason why I decided to buy an SRT-6. I check it several times a day to find out what is going on.
Being a former owner of a BMW 850 (another rare car) I know that forums are a priceless tool when it comes to owing a special car.
What impresses me most is how friendly and supportive people seem to be here when you a problem to solve.

850s are cool! I wouldn't want one now though, being they are V-12s and, get negative fuel economy and probably cost $5,000 for a tune up and brakes...
Thanks. You just described 850 ownership perfectly. It was a cool car and you really did feel like you were driving an exotic car especially with the looks it would get. Also the V12 was an amazing experience since it felt like a jet engine everytime you would get on the highway and stomp on it. For a heavy car it moved fairly well too and I had a few Dinan mods as well which made a slight improvement. With the big BBS wheels and the lowering kit it was a hot car.
When I saw one at an auto show for the first time I was 15 years old and said one day I'll own that car. I was lucky and it only took 8 years but I got a chance to buy one.
The same thing happened when I first saw the Crossfire concept at an autoshow and fell in love with the design. I also loved the SRT but felt it was over priced so I went with a G35. When I noticed that the "new" SRTs where selling for so cheap, within a couple of days I bought one.
2 more weeks and I should have it my door step.
