Help!!! beeping when i hit 85
My car chime starts to beep as soon as i go over 85. IT doesnt matter if I go faster only stops when I slow down and bring it back under 85. I guy at the dealer thought it might have something to do with the weather being 45 degrees today and it was just a warning that the conditions could be bad over 85. I dont think that is the case although ther is no codes and no errors. I know people have had this problem with there wing deployment but this cant be the case on the SRT6. Im so mad I havent been up to 85 in awhile so i probably just never herd it. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IT MIGHT BE its freaking me out there isnt even check engine light on...
Do these cars have an "Over Speed" alarm? I've had a couple of cars before that had programable alarms that trigger at a certain speed to remind you to slow down. One was a C230 and the other was a Buick Reatta. If they do have this feature, that would explain it...
Any thoughts?
Any thoughts?
No beeping from my car even in temps lower than 45 degrees. I can't see what difference a lower temp of 45 would make anyway since that's still well above freezing.
Do any of your dash icons light up when the beeping starts? Have you gone through the owner's manual to find all conditions that will trigger an audible alarm? Have you installed any electronics such as a nav unit that may be set to beep at 85 mph? At any rate you have an amusing speeding excuse to provide to the police should you ever get pulled over.

lol the dealer was like why are you going 85 you just left and I know the speed limit on the closest road was 55 lol. Yes i went through everything, Steering wheel, door, seatblet, lights ect. IT is a soon as I hit 85. The only thing they did is adjusted the rear hatch at the dealer and now I come back with this.
Have them check the computer to see if it is in SRT mode. My convertible would not operate when I got my car and they said it was because the computer was looking for a wing down signal. I have a SRT also.
Not sure if they were telling the truth but my roof works now after 2 days of them screwing around and two interior scratches.

awsome thats the information I needed I was going to ask someone brave enough to hardly click there rear hatch close and take it up to 85. They ordered a bunch of parts for my car so I need to bring it back I just hope it gets done before it snows...

I re-adjusted my hatch, and it was tough to close...
So, make sure it is closed. Whether or not it caused a chime, I don't know...as I re-closed it and made sure it latched.

If your hatch is really difficult to close then your bumpers have been moved too much. Try moving the bumpers back a tad then try closing your hatch.

Then, close the hatch hard and they move just enough to be just right.

As for the bumper adjustment I thought I read somewhere in the maintenance manual a complete procedure for adjusting the bumpers and torquing them down 88 in-lbs but can't find that info now, at least in the standard Crossfire manual. Will see if I can get a copy of a manual for an SRT6 and look in that.
