I can't find a description of this "cutout". Questions this raises:

1. What is it? (Something secret?)
2. Was the supercharger or the exhaust making all the noise?

"cutout" is short for exhaust cutout...........you can have mechanical or electric cutouts. Basically they are welded in the exhaust system; one on each pipe and you can open or close them to bypass the mufflers and/or catalytic converter(s). I have e-cuts on my SRT-8 and with the push of a button can go from Cadillac quiet to obnoxiously loud in 3 seconds.

you can see our cutouts under the car, they are too low and we will move them up a bit, look at that squat! i think were only a mod or 2 away from lifting the front tires

damn... with what mods?

these are exciting times indeed!

EDIT: just noticed the attached pic... with the front grille removed, is that a factor in improving your 1/4 mile time? Not looking at this from heat soak perspective...

The grill takes like a minute to take off.....Never thought about that.....what about skinny tires/rims up front....loose some more weight?

Thanks! I was getting confused, thinking it was something in the intake manifolds.

I guess I am confused. What are you saying the H/P increase was at the rear wheels with the addition of the New Manifolds? What do you truely accreadit this increase to? Isn't the pressure eaqual whether it has a small or a large manifold? Is the size of the tubes from the super charger bigger? And lastly would you expect performance increases with these manifolds if one didn't change the pulley for the S/P?
Thank you,
Mike Loftus

cai, intake mani's, asp pulleys, exh cutouts, and mt et streets

i pulled the grill since we were so close to breakign the et record. i "think" it helps btu i may be wrong and we may be increasing drag by doing so

i doubt may people would want to go full drag car, we went for a... drive to the track, swap the rear wheels, race all day, swap back tires and then drive home from the track. i guess it could still be done with skinny's but i think thats more involved then most would want to deal with, not to mention the price of some custom bogart wheels to fit. we would probably do better with weight savings by pulling the passenger seat.

1.76 was the best of the night, most were in the low 1.8's. the front brakes wouldnt hold long enough to bring the rpm's up more for the launch, we got to about 2000rpms brake torqueing it off the line

Got to get a line lock man B&M has them for about 80 bucks, you'll need two and mount each solenoid in the front fender wells and tie them together into one switch. I can launch at about 2500 rpm's with it. I got them at www.autopartswarehouse.com

Any signs of weak point yet? I know we were thinking that the Axles and Rear End may be the first things to go.

I pulled my grille the other night at the track for one pass to see if there was any difference..................on that pass I trapped 1mph faster than the run with it in place.
