but none of these 3 sounds are acheivable with our 6 cyl engines because simply 6s,8s, and 10s all have their distinct sounds and to me 8s sound the best and 10s the worst... generally
raspy and annoying comes from the power that car put's out.
but ya i liked the 1st one . stock is not enough
of course it is personal

What's with the "Harley" comments 2 negative statements on the latest posts, I am 69 years old and ride a 98 Sportster, my wife rides a 06 Dyna, trips into the states of 4 to 500 miles per day are routine, is this list inhabited by a bunch of woosies?

And yes, I like Harleys, but I haven't found his comments all that negative, not do they bother me, I hear them all the time.
finished the downpipes and catback today, 2.25" dp's with a pair of high flow cats where the 2ndary cats used to be, catback goes dual 2.25" into a single 3" all the way back to the muffler.
im still on the fence about the muffler we used, we may need bigger tips?
we made it with a factory style attachment between the dp's and catback so you can use it with a combo of either the stock dp's or stock catback

Personally i like the tip size but its almost as if the canisters are too little leaving a lot of room "open" to the eye.
Being that small and straight through do they muffle sound much at all?

After I heard this clip of two flowmaster delta 10s i haven't heard a better muffler yet on a crossfire. Its louder than stock but not too loud, has a euro sports car sound with a little american muscle, and almost no rasp = win.

Does someone know how to contact the guy that has made a home made exhaust in Belgium.

maxxmThis one is from another current thread. The exhaust is home made by a member who lives in Belgium.
I really like that sound, and I am going over there with my car in 1 month. Never know if i will install it straight away over there.

I for one think the car is very unique and needs a unique sound. The large coffee can exhausts wouldn't work. The current exhaust is a little quiet at idle, but sounds good as you step on it. So I quess I would like a sound somewhere between a ZO6 and a Ferrari!? Don't know what that would sound like. But might be interesting.
Rob,
Have you or anyone else considered an electronic cut-out. I know on the old SRT-4 we put an e-cutout in place of the cat. It allowed us to stay relatively quiet until we wanted to be loud...We mounted a two-way switch in the dash and worked great... I know for the N/A an e-cutout could possibly damper performance because of the loss of backpressure, but in the SRT's that loss would actually help performance due to the FI....correct me if I'm wrong, but that would be an interesting experiment to hear/see/feel an e-cutout on a SRT-6.
I do also agree that the tips may need to be larger. They just don't seem to fill up the space well enough.
