we had cutouts on the car already and will be adding them into these new downpipes as well, we just ran out of time yesterday to get the cutouts repositioned.

Talking Re: exhaust progress

FYI if your interested in checking out my muffler delete AND the addition of stainless 4" Wye pipes, You can see what worked for me. Without the Wye the sound is a harsh and raspy note, no megaphone to detune the sharper sound, thus the Wye pipe, which is the same width for the cars appearance ( $115). The power seems to come on stronger but you can see the Stock motor with phelolic gaskets only and the exhaust on the dyno chart on my signature.

There is no drone as I hate that and would never go there. This change is simple to reverse, just replace the muffler, anyway you can see the sound on a wet track with the car up shifting every time that I opened the throttle. Idle and town its quiet like the boring stock sound it had , only when you get on it do you hear the tone change. It is not loud though, still have 4 cats and the resonator on line.

You can see the rear pipes and their size for comparison, Woody Enjoy.

Nice work Rob!

I have electronic cutouts and they sound horrible when opened. I couldn't really tell much difference with them open, so I took them off and blocked the flanges. Needswings also said that with his cutouts it takes a while for the ECU to adjust. I also noticed a lack low end torque with them open, but now that I have the ASP pulleys I might just put them back on and see how they do.

Rob any plans for a before and after dyno? I might get a set if my cutouts don't work any better being that I hacked my factory downpipes to put them on.

I would like to hear the sound clip from these. I know how difficult it is to get a realistic sound clip of the SRT when the SC is not engaged.

When I had my exhaust mod done, I wondered what type of replacement muffler I would use if-and-when my OEM went bad. I like that fact that you can't actually see the OEM muffler from behind and all the A/M mufflers I've seen installed on the Crossfire so far are really visible from the back. I considered just re-packing the OEM if possible. That's why I like the looks of these and hope they sound great.

I looked around and saw these units made by Weapon-R that look similar but can't find a decent sound clip on the web. They also look similar to the Wize units that were posted by No Warning Shot in the Engine & Exhaust forum.

cutouts worked great and are going back on our car at least. the car needs 3-4 passes to peak the power with them tho, once opened at the track after makign a few passes with them closed the next 3-4 runs get progressively quicker. if anyone can get a video off their verizon cellphone and get it playable on the net let me know and ill text message the video over to you that we made yesterday with the new exhaust.

btw, Our muffler looked very similar to the one posted above but we cut out the 2.25" single inlet section and made it 3" in

btw, im shooting for ~ 700 for dp/cb setups or a proprietary headers/dp/cb setup for 1500-1700ish.

either setup would be 304ss, probably 321ss for the headers, full tig'd, polished and with a great warranty with all included hardware and most likely interchangable straight pipes for the cats/resonators.
If you do not go with headers, the power gained will be fairly negligible.

I want an update on the sheet metal intake plenums you guys were working on!!! They will probably be worth as much power as a full exhaust. If you decide not to include headers in the exhaust package, I guarantee the plenums will be worth more.

here you go Rob. I'm sure it's not the best sound quality going from a cell phone then to youtube, but it sounds pretty good to me. Send me more and I will upload them if you like. You can also pm me your email and I can email you the files so maybe you can host them on your site? They come up as quicktime files on my pc.

Rob dynoed 10whp with his cutouts. So yes they work, but to me they sound like crap, compared to a nice high flow exhaust. here is a video of Robs cutouts, inside the car mine are ear damagimg loud.

wow thats not too bad. but you lose all back pressure right? so you have crappy low end torque

Yes I can notice a definite lack in low end torque with them open. If Robs new exhaust system puts down good #'s I'd rather go that route and hopefully it will maintain some of the low end torque as well. I guess it depends on whether your drag racing or road racing and where you want your power to be.
