Default Engine Stroker Kit?

Apparantly Renntech still sells it's 3.8l engine conversion to some of the 320 models, and I know for a fact that it was once offered for the 32s as well... my question is.. what would it take to do this conversion? cause I am wondering why such a high price

and other manufacturer... ie. let or evosport have not gotten out to realeasing this product, but in total released more for our cars, but not this.. why? I know stroker kits are a very popular method of increasing performance at least with other manufacuturers... and not that we are finally getting some aftermarket support I was wondering why a stroker is missing?

How you doing lol ?? The way the stroker kit works is it lets the cylinder move further up and down. This is achieved by using a different crankshaft. Not only is that in itself expensive you also have to add up labor. A stroker kit may add hp and torque but it also lowers the limit at which an engine can safely rev. It is not good to have the piston travel further up and down and also at a faster pace. In essence you are making the piston move a further distance at the same rate of speed of your stock set up. This causes significant wear on your pistons, and also will decrease the engines ability to perform at high rpms. Not worth it in my opinion especailly when you have the RENNTECH price tag to add on as well.

well renntech offered it for quiet a while... I don't belive renntech products are very high performance or very affordable, but I do belive that they are reliable.. after all they also do offer a warranty... so if they have produced this product and distributed it... why can't others? everything else renntech and startech has done for our engines has been overed by other smaller... manufacturers, but not this...? there has to be a reson and I don't belive reliability is the case here... or else they would not offer it..

Is it just because it would be expensive to do? Renntech claimed a bump to 450 horses on the slk32 as far as I can remember with their 3.8 kit.. I am sure it could be a profitable product

With a stroker kit you basically need to change the whole engine. Since you are increasign the volume of air being compressed you need to either run a higher octane fuel, or start using lower compression pistons. Since it's hard for us to run a higher octane fuel....(we already have to use premium because of our C.R).....that leaves us with the option of replacing pistons as well. I can see where this becomes a very expensive rebuild.........maybe not as much as they are asking though!

I talked to RennTech a little less than a year ago about the possibility of a stroker kit for my car (C32).
RennTech indeed confirmed that they do not (at least now) do a stroker kit for the C32. Among the issues to be dealt with on our engines (M112K) are:

1. The main problem is that the supercharger would be over its limit with a 3.2L to 3.8L conversion.

2. The pistons would have to be changed if it was done so that we could lower the compression ratio.

the stroker kit is exspensive, because you need to do a lot of machine work. they start with the ML320 sleeve and piston kit, which brings you up to 3.7L, this is the easy part.
Then you need to have the stock crank offset ground, and then new connecting rods installed, only to gain .1L extra, not worth the trouble. but it does make torque at the cost of less rpm. Then they install the higher lift cams.

The ML320 makes another 35hp over the stock 320 motor, and the cams might produce 15hp, then you retune the ecu for the extra 19hp, now your at 69hp. not bad but it's cheaper to do it yourself and forget the offset grinding step.

but would that plus the larger diamter pullies create an even larger gain such as 1+1=2.5?

anything that improves flow on the NA car will be spectacular upgrade on the SRT motor
