Seasonal Affective Disorder
You would probably pass out if you saw my car today. It is a daily driver and I am truly amazed on how well it handles in the snow. It must be the all-season Contis because I have had no problems. That and the fact that Kansas is flat, you know.
It is now covered with so much muck from the melting snow I can barely see out the windows. I'd take a picture, but it may be like a terrible accident scene. So hideous but you can't turn away.

The roadster has been stored since Nov. here in the great white north (Wisconsin). I bought a 760li last week though. It weighs 4800 lbs. and does 0-60 in about 5.4. It doesn't handle nearly as well but it makes the time fly till spring. Now if it would just stop snowing
I'm jealous of all of you that are getting to drive your X-fires...I haven't driven mine since mid-November.
I'll probably leave it in the garage until sometime in March, just to be safe...never can tell about Pennsylvania weather.
I'm suprised that some of you have been driving in the snow and the slush. I would have thought that the X-fire would have been like a sled in these conditions, even with the Conti's. I saw a Mustang recently in a bit of snow, and it was spinning all over the place.

March 16th can't come fast enough. I miss my car!

Insurance purposes. I pay less insurance because I store my SRT for 3 months a year. I put it away on Dec 15th, so I don't get it back until Mar 16th.

Let's hope that we don't have a freak snowstorm on March 16th
PS .....I LOVE THE CALENDARS !!!

Anyway, give your insurance agent a call and ask them what your options are for storage. I'm sure they'll have a similar plan. If not, call Erie Insurance.
If i lived up north where i could only drive my car in the summer i would sell it. The $ spent isnt worth such little driving time or nasty driving conditions IMO. Im glad you guys are so patient though!

The way I see it, I plan to keep the car for a long time. So not driving it in the winter is the same as the guys that don't drive theirs every day to keep the mileage low. Mine is just combined in a three month period.
Actually, I'll probably put about 10,000 miles/year on it during the nice months anyway. And I still won't be able to drive it everyday. I live too far away from where I work to use it to commute every day. I'd end up eating up the car in four years. Since I won't be able to get another one when this one is gone, I plan on stretching out the enjoyment.

I just told them that I was going to store my car for the winter, and it wouldn't be driven, so I only wanted it covered for comprehensive not collision for those months. That way it's covered if my garage collapses on it, or someone steals it. But I can't drive it. My buddy gave me the idea, as I always thought you had to turn in your license plates in PA if you dropped your insurance. But that doesn't apply to vehicles in storage.

Erie is not the cheapest, but they are known for paying claims quickly and not jerking you around over details and such. I've had very good experience with them.

Now that I'm paying insurance for my teenage son (mucho dinero!), I definitely need to save money on it when I can. I think it's time I make the lazy kid get a part-time job, lol.

Really though, we had a few snows this year that I definitely couldn't have taken mine out in. I had trouble getting out of my neighborhood in a front wheel drive Hyundai Elantra, so I wouldn't want to imagine driving a rear wheel drive sports car. (There are days when I miss the SUV that I traded in on my X-fire.)
Regarding miles, I put a little over 4k on mine in about 3 months, before I put it up for the winter. Yikes!
It's supposed to be 55* - 60* and sunny this weekend in the Pacific NW. I am going to pull the SRT's out and wash and wax them.(Then it will rain of course!) It's bright and sunny right now, but only 38*. Looks like a nice weekend for a drive!
