Question on maintenance/service indicator
I have had my car since late August, drove it till November and parked it for the winter.
Last week I started it up and began driving it again because the weather is nice and there is not much salt left on the road.
The battery never died in the 3 months it sat in the garage.
The car still has not indicated it needs to be serviced yet, currently at 3100 "miles" to go before service. The miles do change as I have checked it, so that's not a problem. Tybe B service is the next one due, car currently has a tick over 13k miles.
Is this normal? I thought it you did not drive the car for a certain period of time it began counting down days?
Should I continue to wait or at least change the oil already?

You're still good.....it will let you know when it's time for service. You can probably trust that system more than any of the others, but everything seems to be pretty reliable.

Thanks for the reply, my GTO had a similar system but everyone on those boards said not to pay any attention to it!
