Default Inmotion Tune review

After being delayed by USPS, my ECU finally came in the mail last Sunday,(shipped it overnight on Wed should have been back friday). My girlfriend and I went for a little drive, should have left her at home She says it feels like her head is being pushed into the seat when I punch it and it makes her sick when I go fast. Anyway we've had somewhat of a warm spell the past few days and the last time I drove the car it was cool. It felt only slightly quicker according to the butt dyno and traction control was going off, honestly wasn't impressed. Inmotion said it would take a couple tanks for the ECU to achieve best results. So this morning I got up at 6am to get my cutouts welded in,( which we ran into a snag on that and hopefully they will be on tomorrow), and the temps were cool. I punched it, and this time I could definitely notice a difference. After driving around this morning I am very happy with the tune as far as my butt dyno goes. This Sunday at the track I'll see what the tune actually does for my ET. Good mod for the $$

Check something for me... Does yours rev past 6,100 RPM now?

I hope not. I've beat on it quite a few times and never looked at the tack. Does yours?

No, it doesn't. For some reason I thought this tune upped the Rev Limited to 6,500 RPM. I guess I was wrong.

6500 that would be a little risky. I don't think they mess with it at all, but I'll check.

98% of the time mine shifts above 6,000 rpms, but no more than 6,200. Some times it shifts at 5,800 to 5,900. I wish I could hold 3rd gear to 6,300 because it shifts into 4th just before the end of the 1/4 mile. If I could hold it a little longer I would pick up a 10th or so. For some reason it wants to shift out of 3rd at around 5,700 to 5,800.

I've found that if you do the throttle reset and physically hold teh shifter to the left it will shift consistantly at 6,100ish through 3rd into 4th. But with mods, that might be a bit much to hold onto with one hand on the wheel...

so just hold the shifter to the left as if you were downshifting? Does it feel faster doing this?

Well, I finally got around to giving my car a workout with the Inmotion reflash. I actually purchased the a Stage II reflash some time ago on Ebay but kept adding stuff to the car and so put it off until I was complete and then I had a Full reflash done. Inmotion was easy to work with.

First off, the change borders on the amazing. The changes I did with Needswings CAI and pulley made a significant and noticeable changes in the car but Inmotion pulled it all together. The car accelerates smoothly and with real gusto. I can say without any hestitation, it is the most powerful car I have ever driven (I have never driven a Viper or ZO6). If you are going to have a CAI and pulley install go with the reflash also. I think between the 3 changes, I have gained a 100 hp at the crank.

However, there were some minor problems. Inmotion is easy to work with and very accommodating but I wish I could say the same about the US Post Office. I live, literally, out in the woods. I am 13.5 miles to the nearest town. Running home to sign for packages was impossible. Inmotion requires a signature because otherwise they can not insure the package (and I wanted it insured). So I called up my local PO and asked if I could come in and sign when it arrived, eliminating the need for the postal driver to get my signatue. The Post Mistress was very acommodating and said she would call me when it arrived. Inmotion sent it overnight and it took 5 days to arrive locally! The PO called up when it arived but all the time was spent enroute. Strangely, when I sent it to Inmotion in Oregon, it actually arrived over night!

Well, the bottom line is, if you want some real change wihout much money, these three are way to go.

Thanks for the update. I am having my resonator removed on Friday. If the Y-splitter for my SL55 intake gets here tomorrow as scheduled I wil do that too. Then the 181mm LET pulley should be here in the next week or two. I want to Dyno it after those and then do the ECU flash and Dyno again. I am actually only about 50 miles from InMotion but they said was easier and faster for them if I just overnight it to them. I'll post when I get some numbers.

I had the same problem with the USPS, and I DON'T live in the woods. They recieved it overnight, but took 3 days to get it back. Cost me a day of work to stay at home and wait for it. I'll use my work address the next time I send it in.

I leave a note on my front door that says "Please leave package for .......... at address........and take this note as proof of signature / release"

I sign the note at the bottom and packages are left at the door step and the note is gone every time.

Tried that... They actually turned the note over and wrote me a note back telling me they can't do that...

I think my car might be running on the rich side. It seems my exhasut tips are collecting quite a bit of soot. Never noticed it before the tune. Anyone else notice this?
