You're not kidding !!! An 11-sec M5, a 700hp 911 convertible, a couple of quick e55s and c32s, and an 11-sec Crossfire (or 2 )

Don't talk about such things I have to drive back home. Besides I don't think we are there yet, maybe closer to 480-500 hp. A least that is what I am telling myself.

I've only claimed to hit the 186 mark . The SRT 6 hasn't been driven since the end of November, it's time to get it out now that all the salt has been washed off the roads with all the rain we have had around here in the last 2 or 3 weeks. I done some searching on the net a while back trying to find a place reasonably close where a guy could do atop speed run leagally and didn't have any luck. I even called a retired State Policeman I know that lives just down the road from me and asked him if any of their places where they done driving training was capable of renting or something. I explained to him what I was wanting to do, he said when they started getting the Stangs & Camaro's they went to the Brick Yard. He suggested to do what I did on a open strech of road with no side roads onto it early in the mornings. He grew up just off the high way where I done the 186, he asked me how fast I'd had it and I told him a little over 180, then I told him where. He laughed and said he use to drag race there when he was younger, he also said thats about the best place to attempt high speed runs. Would you be satisfied with a picture of the speedometer when I get the ***** up enough to give it a shot, that is if I'm not too scared to take one hand off the wheel. I seen SRT6nulsa had posted a picture of a speedometer reading 200, I'm guessing a photo-chop.

I think photo chop also. There was no tach in the pic. Just the Gas and speedo. Good luck and play safe!

haha- it isn't you i distrust - just think it would be good for all of us owners to sponge off your fame if we have some credible documentation..
if your car has that much go its way over the top impressive...and safety is a given.
so much bs out there, you know?
guess i thought the track would have some way to easily record the speed--
my ignorance. all you have to do is say you did it. just wish there was a way to record it for posterity--
or really just a record of the top speed to date? and to beat?

bikecop -- pocket radar? it seems so easy...

glad to sponsor your wife, just pm me an address. that pales compared to getting this thing in the 190's.
good golly miss molly that car over 190! is it really possible? you be a god.

I'm still trying to figure out a good way to prove a top speed, I have no doubt it will go over 190 and 200 is a strong possabilty. I'd hate to see it proven in the Indianapolis Star headlines "crazy man clocked at speeds exceeding 190 mph". What I'd like is a policeman sitting in the curve at the end of the straight away to clock me, I know a few but I'm not so sure they would do it. I'm sure there would be people here that wouldn't believe me and a speedometer has been photo-chopped with the needle at 200. Maybe I'll bring my 285/35 PS2 rear street tire's with me to the track and after all the drag racing is done, we could all go out & block off 41 and bikecop can break out his pocket radar .

If you plan on getting a picture of the speedo while you are doing 180-190 on the street do not take your hands off the wheel. If you really feel the need to do this, figure out a way to mount a video camera in the car pointing at the speedo. Also don't even ask one of your cop buddies to clock you, you'd be putting them on the spot. If they helped you they could get in trouble, if they didn't help you they might be worried that you would get mad at them and if they didn't try to stop you or tell on you they could get in trouble, not a position you should put your friends in. If you decide to do this be carefull, I like your posts and if anything at all goes wrong at those speeds you won't live through it and I wont be able to read anymore of your posts.
