Thoughts on wife driving SRT scary...
This past month I have been playing musical cars. Both mine and Ashley's (3 weeks of factory warranty left) have been at the dealer for warranty work. Since Ashley can't drive the rental cars, since she is 17, she has been taking my SRT to school. Usually I have been driving the rentals. Given a choice of who drives the SRT's, The wife or Ashley... Ashley gets the nod. The wife, Donna works at a Hospital and she doesn't really understand where and how to park the XF to minimize the possibilities of door dings ect. She drives an Town and Country van.
I think there were two occasions this past month that she drove my SRT because hers needed an oil change. I went down to the hospital and picked it up at 2:00 just to be safe. She actually had parked it as far away from everyone as possible...I was pleasantly surprised. The other time she drove mine she was smiling when she got home...She had that grin (PermaGrin) on her face that we all have when we drive our Crossfires. Lucky for me that she likes the T&C.
She won't drive Ashley's SRT, because of the lambo doors. It takes a bit use to opening and closing them.

Re: Thoughts on wife driving SRT scary...
My wife has only driven my SRT once, it was right after I got it. I was still driving my 04 leased coupe, I came home from work and parked in the bay of the garage that is seperated from the rest. I got out of the 04 coupe and opened the door to go into the "toy box part" and my SRT was gone . I was totally stress out till she got home, I never said anything, but did check the car out when she went into the house. Last fall she asked me if she could drive it to work, I just gave her a funny look out of the corner of my eye and she didn't say anything. If she would have asked again I would have let her, but I would have gave her parking instructions. I may let her take it a few runs down the track at Indy this Saturday during the SRT event if she wants to, but she'll have to ask .

Re: Thoughts on wife driving SRT scary...
The missus occasionally drives the SRT & I know she's nervous when she drives it (nervous drivers make ME nervous!) but she's a great driver. Since she's a manager at a grocery store I get VERY nervous when she drives it to work but, true to form, she always parks it way at the end of the lot. I know, I've checked!

I know just how you guys feel..
I told my wife, when I got the SRT that she could drive it anytime she
wanted, so long as she never left the garage.
Actually, she has driven a couple of times, and she really is a good
driver (only one accident over 20 years ago), and she knows how
**** I am about parking. If we should both drive to a resturant or
store (meeting as I'm on the way home from work, or something
similar) she will park in a location one space over from a curbed
area so that I can park between her and the curbed area.

My wife can drive the SRT any time she wants. I explained that it is super charged and the power is there if you want it but not if you don't ( the loud pedal ditates the avaliable power ) and this she understands. It sure is a nice ride but it is there to enjoy - I remind her "We are here for a good time , not a long time"
And she is aware that it has a wide bum when parking

If its nice out and I am working I know my SRT is gone. My wife takes mine out when ever she wants. I would not dare to tell she can't drive it. She is a very good driver, she's been to the track a few times with me with past cars.
Last fall she comes home and tells me that a new blk 08 mustang gt vert was messing with her so she raced him. She says I smoked him by like 20 cars and before I knew it I was going 130, your car is really fast. If she keeps that up I will have to bail her out the big house.
