This car runs so good on the street but get to the track and all holy heck breaks loose, Needs wings c/a and pulley combo are the mods, 1,700 miles on odom. First pass 1.92 60', 12.87, no traction control on any passes, 2nd pass 1.89 60' 13.06 99.98 mph, lost 7 mph from previous pass, 3rd pass 2.12 60' 13.84 @ 88.6 mph car just lays down in 3rd gear, won't rev, last pass dash light comes on mid way down track esp? I can't remember exactly what it says pull out on the highway to go home and car is in limp mode! Pull over, shut it down restart, light goes out, car runs fine all the way home, pulls like a bear 1st, 2nd, 3rd all the way to 115 mph, is it possessed?

 

Sounds like maybe the i/c pump is going out from what I have read.

 

I considered the ic pump, but i thoroughly flogged the car all the way home and ran fine.

 

it was the bas/esp light and it seemed to put a rev limit of 5 grand?

 

I know there are different thoughts on this but I believe on street tires you should leave with traction control on and manually shift before the esp has a chance to dive on you ie.. 5,800 rpm's or so as you have no more peak hp at any higher rpm anyway. I did this and ran a 12.7 with only a needswings and was pretty consistent.

 

How hot was it that day and did you let the car cool down in between your runs...to me it sounds like you may have had an issue with heatsoak with the times getting lower and lower per run, but I am just basically quoting others on here who have more knowledge than I.

 

70 degrees, at night, cooled between rounds as best i could with hood open.

 

Sounds like intermittent pump failure.

 

I'm gonna have to agree and say it is an intermitant IC Pump issue. Something is obvioulsy not right.

 

I have had the same problem from the past two pumps...IC PUMP IS YOUR DEMON! GET IT CHANGED AND LET HER RIP>>>>>

 

Dry Ice on the IC between runs will amaze you.
