New SRT-6 CAI from JMB Performance
Also why is everyone one of you so affraid of admitting you own a Chrysler and stop putting all the Mercedes Benz stickers on your cars? I will challenge any one or group of you to discuss the design and building of the Crossfire but I will not let you say it is a Mercedes. I have owned Mercedes and not "entry" level ones, now I choose to drive a Chrysler Crossfire and I am not ashamed of it. Rather proud that I can do what I please.

Why not wrap your whole interior so you don't need to use the Air Conditioning anymore? Man some of your guys' ideas are so unbelievable. Thats why checker auto and Pep Boys have that section of bolt on garbage for the Rice Tuners. You make no sense at all. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but why the hell do you think your duct wrap in your home for heat and air is insulated? So the outside air surrounding the unit does not have a negative effect on the internal air. Plain and simple. I will keep my wrap thank you.

I am interested in this set up, but which gives the best performance, the dual intake pipes or the single one from Needs Wings? The extra 30 HP is very nice but the sound and faster throttle response is the deal closer.
Can you post an audio clip of the engine revving?

Every one of us???? Don't remember ever stating this. Many others have not either as far as what I have read.
I will also buy into this I think the crossfire looks better then the old style slk32 but do love the new slk55
Anyway why dont you buy two silicone tubes and two 45 and run it behind the grille like the needswings. The only reason I ask is not to steal needswings design but it would be great to compare the numbers of dual intake verse single intake with same filter placement. JMO but I think you would have better luck selling something like this, and it would put to rest the argument that one intake is better then two.

Not sure if a single or dual (or pulling air from the front through the restriction, or pulling from the engine bay with no restriction) will provide better power, but to tell you the truth I think we are talking the difference between a few hp, if anything. There's no magic going on here guys, I think the main thing to realize here is anything is better than the ridiculously restrictive stock intake. You will pick up power with any of the aftermarket intakes that are available.
I don't have a sound clip, at some point I plan to have my buddy who has a digital camera that can shoot audio ride with me, not sure when this will happen.
Again, I'm not trying to "sell" these. I knew what I wanted and had JMB make the intake for me. I'm very happy with the product and thought I would post here and show it off. I knew there would be questions about buying it so I asked JMB if they wanted to make more. They said if they could get around 5 or so people interested for a group buy he would make a batch of them, that's it. If people aren't interested in buying one then that will just make mine more rare, one of one
I'm not surprised what high heat does at all. I vacationed in Greenville SC last summer when it was 95-100o and my twin-turbo A6 accelerated like a pig. She does the same when it gets below 20o. She kind of likes temperatures in the 50-70o range, just like me.
This was a good thread. Lots of interesting discussion and information. Wish I had a few spare hundred but I have to do some bodywork and a brake job on the "new" SRT6 first.

Just pull off the initial black duct work behind the radiator and you have cheap HP and still filtering.
Its worth 7 HP!
Hows that for cheap intake!

If your happy with you're aftermarket mod, regardless of the differences - that's great!
The common denominator is the Crossfire. That's the one thing we all forked our money out for.
The known "Standard" or "Benchmark" is (and should be) the stock configuration.
After that it is wide open; and this thread says it all.
Some members prefer the ease of installation and are willing to pay extra for it, some like to build their own stuff.
In the end - they all seem to work a lot better then the "Benchmark" by amounts almost impossible to measure against one mod or the another.
Therefore - "It's all good"

BikeCop & BrianBrave,
Agreed. To each his own.
We need to get all these mod'ed up Aero SRT6's in one place for some fun. I vote for Colorado! Thats about 1200 miles from me and I lived they for 6 years. Great mountain roads!

I'm in AZ, I would join a nation wide SRT6 hook up in Colorado..
Realty, BTW, I'm pretty thrify.. I can't see spending the $400 to
$500 to put on a CAI. If they could do for $250 to $350, it would be a done deal. Major condiseration

Here's a pic of the same opening on my SL55 intake - it's huge (I can fit my arm up to the elbow thru there) but reduces down to the 3" intake tube. - Best part is I have a similar 3" intake tube on the drivers side. (Would that make it a 6" intake?)
