Thank you for this information. This wheel and suspension stuff on the srt6 is all new to me. Sounds like I will need to get the alignment checked on the rear wheels.

I too am surprised that tires would need to be (partially) replaced, and wheel bearings replaced, with such low mileage. The car has been driven infrequently and gently, well cared for, and mostly parked in the garage. Maybe that could be a part of the problem. The car was never driven much, and just sat for too long.

I am wondering if that 26k miles is genuine, sadly there are devices available to wind back the clock .

sitting in a garage will not wear wheel bearings out .

I have no reason to suspect any odometer mileage discrepancy. The original owners were honest people. They had all the service records and original paperwork. The mileage noted on the service records and periodic state inspections match up independently with the Carfax report. The car was well cared for. In many ways it has the appearance of a new car.

Unfortunately, I think there may have been out of warranty service performed (by a local mechanic) that wasn't necessary, perhaps due to lack of familiarity with the srt6. This, combined with owners who cared about their car, and wanted it to get any recommended service.

That is good . your car sounds genuine.

Yes maybe, or that mechanic was not honest .
i would have asked him for the old parts...if he had them .

Thank you for you insights. I could be wrong about judging other peoples honesty, or just about anything else. I'm still trying to solve this puzzle, and trying to get the bugs worked out of our new srt6.

But I definitely have some tires that need to be replaced, before someone else drops a sofa in the middle of my lane.

Yes gotta avoid those sofas!
Your car will be sorted by a proper 4 wheel alignment .
As far as tires go i read on the Porsche furums that the Kumho KU39 Ecsta were great tyres .
I bought a set and they were right, they are. they are not expensive either .

I had my Roadster alignment set at Mercedes-Benz and the only thing that needed adjusting was the right rear, it was towed out too much, all is well now tires are wearing perfect.

Just had Goodyear F1's installed on our srt6. The ride is much more smooth and quiet. The road noise is gone. About $875 out the door, after $80 factory rebate.

Going in tomorrow for an alignment.

Thank you everyone for all your posts and help!
