Unhappy transmission/computer malfunction

Looking for some assistance in diagnosing and resolving a problem which materialized on my first drive since parking my SRT last Fall. It happened three times after slowing to a stop in drive. When I accerated in a normal fashion , the transmission would not shift out of first gear. Then by simply pulling to the curb , shifting into park , and then proceeding again the tranmission again performed normally. The transmission ,otherwise appears to operate as it should. I suspect that when by coming to a stop and shifting into park that I may be resetting the computer, allowing the transmission to again perform as intended. Anysuggestions? Your help would be much appreciated! My SRT is still under warranty , so my next step will be to go to the local Chrysler dealer , who I have been told has a Crossfire trained mechanic, however I doubt that he has ever seen an SRT,let alone having worked on one!

Is it possible that you are accidentally bumping it into "autostick" mode? Make sure next time it does this that you look at the dash indicator next to your clock and see if it says "D" instead of "1".

Take it in to check the fluid level if above does not get it. Could be that simple, Woody Enjoy

Another tranny issue.

When driving at a constant speed, moderate acceleration was followed by the tranny disengaging. Slowing to a near stop re-engaged.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Eric and Woody for your suggestions! I didn't think it was a low fluid problem, because I had no oil or fluid drips on my shop floor over the winter storage. However, I have been very careful about not bumping the shifter, and surprise no more malfunction. Instead what we have here is operator error!

i get a similar problem when in "s" mode, when in "w" no shifting problems. so i just leave it in w, dont really notice a differance one way or the other other than the shifting issues

"W" mode starts you out in second gear, for one, and it may pull timing to reduce torque and horsepower for "Winter" driving. "S" or summer mode starts in first gear, and will give you full power and acceleration, so if there is a bona fide problem with your tranny in first gear, and its not just putting it into autostick mode, you should get it looked at to get the full performance out of your car.
