I recently had a deer jump into the front seat with me on my way to work. The animal left a ton of hair and blood all over the interior. Insurance only wants to pay for a clean and detail job plus the glass and dash. The repair shop owner says they have to replace the carpet, seats, dash, radio, headliner and heater control because of germs from the blood.
Anyone have an experience with this? Is there any documentation out there spelling out the health issues by leaving the blood in things?
Estimated damage at around $8,000 and there is no body damage, it's mainly inside issues.
I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks to all.

Driving on the autobahn in Germany at 140mph in h is BMW Z4,the Driver Hit a Deer...
The deer disappeared...
The driver stopped and wondered where did the deer go.......???
For all you deer hunters, this is how you pack a 150lb deer into a BMW Z4 convertible....

well, Stevo boy, it could have been worse at 186....check out that z4...yours would have been next to ya.....and no, I didn't hit it with my semi and just leave it either....
oh, and one other thing Steve and I know it slipped your mind, but if anyone should know, you should...gun season this wk...remember...they are a little skidish rt now...so leave your car in the garage, drive the big one to work...
Uuugh Deer whistles, NO. They are bs. Try your horn-no effect.
I had a deer show at 1/2 mile in front of me on a sunny morning and I started blowing my horn, turned on the head lights and about 10' in front of me he bolted into the side/front of my 5 ton truck......WACK. They are dumb and dont know the whistle is to turn them around.
One night I hit one with my 88 daytona when he started to run across the road, but slipped and fell. MY driver wheel went over his neck and the right wheel got the big part. I went into the air flew and landed without damage. In VA there are plenty of them to cause damage to cars.
If I can pass along any advice it would be this:
Be safe and thin the herd, Woody
If a deer gets in front of you, STEER STRAIGHT, BRAKE , AND KILL THE S
B.
DO NOT AVOID HIM BY SWERVING WE LOOSE TOO MANY THAT TRIED THAT AND KILLED THE CAR AND THE PASSENGERS.
He will slow you and the car is replacable. Swerve and youll probably loose control, hit a tree or someone else. Showing the insurance company the parts of deer is lots better than trying to convince them that an animal caused your costly accident.

A couple things:
Woody is right on - don't ever weave.
Deer whistles do not keep the deer out of your path. During rut (like right around now up here) the deer will be running & they're so full of hormones they don't give a crap about any sounds.

LOL...I happen to like AK's and AK clones.
Very effective at scaring them off! My mom (not a gun person at all) actually asks me to come up and scare off the deer. She gets pissed every year when she plants hosta (aka.....deer lettuce) in her flower garden and the deer eat it down to nothing.
