Default VRP Header: Introductory Price

I just got off the phone with Vadim over at VRP and we are proud to announce that we will be offering these headers to the Crossfire community.

Details: http://www.mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=241439

Retail price is $1299.00
Introductory Price is $999.99.

We need at least 5 prepaid orders to move ahead with the production. Vadim will be doing the final run in the next two weeks and then they will be off to get coated. They are ceramic coated aluminized steel that bolt up to all factory hardware.

If we can get more then 5 the price will be reduced. 10 or more I know we can get it to at least 899.99.

If you have any questions please let me know and I will forward to Vadim.

Well ill be a son of a *****!

Are we sure they will fit the srt6? Having been one of the few people on these forums to remove the headers(to my best knowledge)...i know space is very tight. Id hate to get a set and find out when the engine torques they hit the frame, only to hear "well they worked on the Mercedes".

Help me out here guys;

The only header I have ever installed required a 'ghetto sim' to keep the emissions control system from turning on the service engine light. This looks totally different from what I can see? This setup does not remove a catalytic converter?, just replaces the current headers with something more tuned? Thus no ghetto sim needed?, no cat removed?

By the way, this is darn good news! I have found that a CAI and header(s) on a NA car can really add some snap! (and improve gas mileage if you are in commuter mode).

Thanks ....

****** sorry about posting in the SRT6 forum!, clicked on a link in the engines forum and ended up here ... ******

These should fit the Crossfire as it is the exact same chassis as the SLK, especially in the front clip. We will be getting our set once the first batch is done. We are offering a buy in at a reduced price preproduction. Afterwards, the price will be higher. These are VRP's products, not ours. We are merely providing them to the community.

I would be very interested in these headers for my SRT6 especially with the introductory offer. Before I make a commitment I need to know if these new headers have already been installed on an SRT6 without any major modifications to the SRT6 engine compartment or significant complications during the install ; and second; a dyno run to prove that this modification actually improves horse power in the range you are claiming. Can you please respond to these two questions? Thank you.

Dennis

Like everyones saying, i need to know if they are a guaranteed fitment, and i would like to see dyno numbers before committing, to make sure it is even worth it.

Ok, this is the best I can do.

We need a commitment of 5 sets to get this price. I will offer 5 or more people a 50% deposit on the headers that is fully refundable if, when they are released, do not make power, fit with too much trouble (anything more then unbolting something in the way that's not the steering arm and bolting it back in), or they require extensive modifications to run correctly (too lean, CEL, etc.)

If I could I would front the 5K to get in on the buy in and then once we had our testing done, send them off.

If you guys are interested and meet me half way I think this will be a very beneficial and cost effective upgrade for the community.

VRP is expecting 15-20 on N/A and 20-25 on SRT (expect a lot more for a pullied/intake/ECU car).

This could be the mod that puts the SRT over the 500HP with no juice mark and the N/A over the 300HP on stock displacement.

So basically this will be open for two weeks. I will close it on May 23rd.

Didn't somebody do headers for the SRT and they actually produced less power?

I really hope these will put out more power - the more products that make power the Better

Those headers were a log style header. These are tube style. The log style is available through FlooredFab I believe. The same test car that got those started was the one that got in touch with VRP to actually make good headers. Check out the stuff they make for the E55.

They weren't long style - here's a link to some pictures of them -

Even though the member (SteveL) who paid to have the above headers made is now paying VRP for this new set- I feel they are on the right track and design and I - once again - have my hopes up. but realistically - there's not a lot off room left in our engine bay - and close up our manifolds really aren't all that bad

TVT - I hope your association works out with VLM and you can get us all a decent price if they work - there is not that big of a market and price discrimination is the wrong marketing strategy for headers.

Does this mean the price will be $899 with 5 buyers?

I like the idea of headers and all, but they must be a ***** to install! Don't you have to lift the motor out? Something i really wouldn't want to tackle.......

I am very interested in the headers but after the results on the first set that were done on the SLK32 I am going to wait for the dyno results.
