Here's the list of mods on the mercedes that ran that dyno. It from the thread over on mbworld.

The list is pretty long...

ECU, pulley, cams, upgraded intercooler with remote reservoir (two pumps), intake, headers, custom exhaust, LSD, brakes, wheels, springs, shocks, cosmetic stuff (grill, antenna, roll bars, wood trim), oil catch can. I think that is pretty much it

Those headers are gorgeous. When I get to that point in my project I will be very interested in a set of those. BTW does anyone know what LSD was installed on the 32 test car?

We need a commitment of 5 sets to get this price. I will offer 5 or more people a 50% deposit on the headers that is fully refundable if, when they are released, do not make power, fit with too much trouble (anything more then unbolting something in the way that's not the steering arm and bolting it back in), or they require extensive modifications to run correctly (too lean, CEL, etc.)

If I could I would front the 5K to get in on the buy in and then once we had our testing done, send them off.

If you guys are interested and meet me half way I think this will be a very beneficial and cost effective upgrade for the community.

VRP is expecting 15-20 on N/A and 20-25 on SRT (expect a lot more for a pullied/intake/ECU car).

This could be the mod that puts the SRT over the 500HP with no juice mark and the N/A over the 300HP on stock displacement.

So basically this will be open for two weeks. I will close it on May 23rd.

That is one bold power prediction, 300hp for the na? Aren't you guys at 250 now? You are hoping for 50hp from just headers. Srt seems equally as bold. I am sure you are talking about bhp and not whp though, right? Whats the highest whp on an srt to this point? The highest I saw was my buddy at 363whp or so, with huge torque, 430 at the wheels or something crazy.

I might be able to put in a deposit on the NA set. What is the price prediction? And 15-20 Hp to the crank or a refund correct?

I could do the down payment also after I know:
Are they stainless and coated?
Do you need to lift the motor off the frame to install them onto the motor.

Iam believing that they bolt on to the existing down pipes?

With a yes, no, yes response Ill be interested, Thanks Woody, ENJOY

The Intro price has long been closed, sorry guys. They are 1399.00 now.

But to answer your questions, YES, YES but only on the passenger side, YES

Actually they are mild steel. They do bolt up to factory flanges. But its the driver side of the motor that requires lifting.

Thanks for the correction 240M - Do you need lift the engine to clear the steering gear... do you need to disconnect the PS line and radiator hoses only or do also need to go after fuel line?...

Look forward to hearing how your install and performance works out.

Had a local guy look at my SRT sometime back who makes headers for old hot rods and boats... His price was way to much $$ without some volume...

The dyno wasn't wrong, at all. Hell, my ms3 makes 260 and 310ft lbs. All depends on the tune.

And no, you won't be able to show me 50hp from headers. There is no proof that it will do that on an srt6, how can you be so sure?

IIRC it was the steering rack that requires the clearance. I did not remove any PS, fuel, or radiator lines but you do need to remove the plastic clip that connects rad hose to motor otherwise it will snap...if it does no biggie its not even necessary...

Lifting the motor is super easy its one bolt on the bottom of the crossmember for each mount.

I know what you mean about the price. I thought about making my own from stainless but it would require either a motor on a stand or tons of hours on the car snaking the prototype in and out for fitment/clearance.

Ive never seen one srt6 to date that put down 430wtq and only 363whp. So BS on that.

Im not saying they will make 50hp, i thought thats what you were saying.

If i see 15whp gain i will be satisfied with the headers. Any more and ill be thrilled. Some people think this isnt worth the cost/hassle and i completely understand their point of view. However, im at the point in my modifications where the basic stuff has been done and theres not too much left. The cost will get higer and the gains will be less(law of diminishing returns).

I could've swore Vadim told me SS, maybe they changed prior to production. But yes you are right about lifting the Driver's side and not the passenger side.
