So here's the latest from the dealer...

Getting 3 brand new rims

Getting 2 brand new headlights

Getting 2 new foglights

Painting the flaky paint on the roof and painting the ENTIRE rear wing.

Giving me two caps for the windshield wipers where they connect to the car and two new nuts which are both rusted from not having the caps on top.

I'm happy about them replacing all of they above so far but the problem right now is I have to return the rental as chrysler will only cover 5 days of rental. They are still waiting on parts and want me to bring the monster back on tuesday.

I'm contemplating asking them to paint the ENTIRE car as there are several other areas which are spotty as well.

I will keep everyone informed.

Stealer just called me and told me they found a huge gas in one of my front tires. They want 308 to replace it!

Do you think they put it there?

What dealership did you take it into? I might want to get my headlights replaced with no hassle.

Get a BN set of (4) Kumho's for Under $600. Shipped. (& the rears are much more than the fronts!)

Well I just picked my car up from Feeny Chrysler in Elgin and for the most part am VERY pleased. New headlights, new foglights, 3 new rims, and paint repair on the roof of the car. I also complained about my rear wing having hard water spots on it and believe it or not they buffed the ENTIRE car! I also had them replace the nuts holding the wipers and put new caps over the nuts as mine had fallen off.

As you may have read from a previous post above they found a crack in one of my front tires on the sidewall when replacing a rim. I inspected the tire and it does appear to be a defect rather than something they may have done on the tire machine. I am actually in the process of sending pictures and emails to Michelin to see what they can do for me.

After being quoted 308 for one front new tire (michelin pilot sport) I opted to go a cheaper route and got me a set of Federal SS595 front tires. They were 84.00 dollars each from tire rack and look VERY NICE!

Here is a link...
http://www.wheelmax.com/product.asp?...309&CtgID=9314

They have a ZR speed rating which means they are rated for over 186mph. That beats the Michelin Pilot sports for speed rating!

Anyways they mounted and balanced them for free and I got both for 178.00 which is FAR less than the 308 for one michelin. I drove home on the them and they felt pretty solid. I also read some reviews online and they were highly rec'd.

If anyone in the area wants a great dealer to go to hit up Feeny Chrysler and ask for Brian. He is a car and bike enthusiast and was very easy to work with. His boss was a jagoff but he did me well.

Abe,
I'm glad you came out well with them!
They sure didn't give me a Warm & Fuzzy feeling after buying my SRT6 Coupe from them last Nov, but then you know that Story.
Semper Fi!

Bill,

I agree with you 100%! The management there is nothing but a buncha ******. I got into it with the manager of the service shop and actually called him outside to go toe to toe in front a few customers. After that he stayed away from me and Brian came through nicely.

I won't name him but he told me that Chrysler can't just replace every part I complain about and I replied that if i'm complaining it's for a reason not because **** is right. He then told me that he was denying the repair to the rear wing because it was caused by acid rain! I told him unless he can prove it was acid rain he would be hearing from my lawyer. I then told him it may have something to do with Chrysler leaving the car outside for 2 years before they actually sold it.

Anyways once I called the little fat boy out he backed down and actually left the area as he knew I was close to laying down the semper fi smackdown on his ***. Afterward several customers told me he deserved it!

The guy above him pulled me aside afterward and told me he is sorry for what happened and Chyrsler would take care of everything which is how I got my mount and balance for the other front tire done for free.

As I was leaving today fat boss was walking past outside and when he saw me he actually went out of his way to get away from me. Son of a ***** can talk the talk but can't walk the walk apparently. I had my 7 year old son with me anyway so I would have probably just had him whoop his *** for me...

Hows the 06 treating ya?

Way to go Abe,

I wish I still had all my energy of my 20's, back then there was Nothing I couldn't & wouldn't do, got me in trouble more than once, but it was worth it!

The '06 is a Dream, it Drives like a Beast on my Dragon like back roads, but it should be in a Museum instead of my Garage.

My Best,
Bill (SF)

Glad you got it all taken care of with ahem... relatively no problems. That is really discouraging to know the manager is such a peice of work, at the dealership I go to (Arlington Chrysler) the only person I deal with is the service manager and he is a real nice guy. I think since I'm a smaller guy I might not be able to intimidate your dealership's manager and might just try my dealership first for the headlight issue, that or maybe I will invite you along to scare him away.

If they see me in there they will do whatever it takes to get me out of there happy. It's funny that once I got loud in front of other customers the tide turned....

I had Federals on my Neon. Nothing wrong with that tire, from my experience.

I just lost 1 of my windshield wiper caps. :-/

So far, under warranty, I have replaced:
  1. both headlights
  2. transmission plug
  3. both right wheels
  4. left door panel (glue from 2 year-old tape)
I would have had all four wheels replaced, but apparently, it's hard to do. My service writer said it needs special approval, but two wheels at a time doesn't. ????
I have had so many of the same issues especially problems with my car sitting without attention. Headlights and the tape took my notice especially. I am keeping up with the thread but I would appreciate it if you could keep me updated. I'm sorry, kinda stepped in the middle of the hoorah once I read more. I love my baby(car) and the military. Marines....
