Default Taking the monster in!

Called the stealership this morning and i'm taking the car in for ALL cosmetic issues...

-Headlights with crap on them

-Some peeling on the rims

-Fog light center piece fell out inside the foglight

-Various spots of flaking paint

I'll keep everyone posted on what they do as I know several members have had similar complaints.

It makes you a nervous wreck to drop it off to those guys I bet!

I literally just got back from dropping mine off to get the window surround painted black, grille painted black and a small ding on the door fixed where an idiot landscaper at work mowed and threw a rock on the car (I had not even made the first payment yet on the car!)

They are paying for it but it worries me sick they will make it look worse than it already does.

I covered my seats with sheets, printed out service manual sections on how to remove the door panel and window trim and told him how particular I was. He said he would make sure it was not parked outside and that it would look good as new when he was done.

It does make me nervous....the service guy already told me that they would sand and buff the headlights. I would prefer new ones but we'll see how they end up looking. I have paint flaking right above the drivers side door and my rear wing has water spots on it from sitting somewhere for 2 years.

After i got mine back from the dealer I noticed greasey hand prints on my door and HEADLINER . Needless to say I was pissed. Them greasey handed mechanics need to watch where they are putting their dirty hands.

I caught a service guy driving my Cobra. We were at a light, I said nice car, is it fast and did the smokim sign and he did. I ran the next light beat him back to the dealership. He was on a parts run, I got 4 new tires out of it as there was rubber all over the rear fender wells.

I wish Mercedes would service my car, until then it's LET Motorsports/Erick for me.

oh sh-- mine goes to the dealer tomorrow,,, paint pealing in two places ,all the tsb"s, tire light stays on, ac clicks when on, alarm does not beep... the only advantage i have is they know we( at the shop where i help out) install 22 on the 300"s and i do the wood grain inside then we also install grille's and trim for this dealer so if they F*** with my car they will have to see the next car we send back to them. good luck to me. jim

If they are replacing only one fog light because the center cap fell off and they replace with the new style light they need to replace both lights so they match. The new fog lights don't have the center cap.

I don't think they have popped the hood yet ...but I have had it in a few times with the current mods and never been questioned. The salesman who sold it to me told me intakes were fine...My ASP pulleys look stock so I doubt they will figure that out unless they drive the car.

Nice, mine has the oil leak TSB and wanted to get the fan TSB done at the same time. It's working ok, but two for one would be nice. I'm hesitant, but might go to another dealer that sponsors some of the mopar races out here. The dealer I used last time don't like me because I had them repaint my door and clean my headliner because of stains and scratches.

Abe,

If your headlights have a odd oxidation line that won't buff out, it could be from the internal laminate peeling. Mine had that problem.

I brought my car in to the dealership when I first bought it, and they have been slowly plugging away at the small blemishes that developed from sitting in a DC lot for two years.

So far, under warranty, I have replaced:
  1. both headlights
  2. transmission plug
  3. both right wheels
  4. left door panel (glue from 2 year-old tape)
I would have had all four wheels replaced, but apparently, it's hard to do. My service writer said it needs special approval, but two wheels at a time doesn't. ????

Hmmm...I hope they replace both my headlights. As far as rims go they are doing three of mine. Two of them on the right side have these white blemishes and one on the right has just a few spots showing up. What color was that glue spot on your door panel? I have a few white marks on mine.

Mine had the glue too. I used 3m adhesive remover. At first it removed everything but looked lighter, but over time dried the same.

Here's what was going on with the wheels:

The glue spots on my door panel looked like this: (You can see a little of the headlight problem, too.)

The rims are about 550.00 new, according to two body shops I went to but they have reconditioned for 330.00. I don't know where to get the reconditioned but that was what the insurance company would pay for. I opted out of the wheel and cleaned it up cause it was the winter setup.
