The second trip theory works aka UPGRADE YOUR COOLING SYSTEM. I was only able to make one pass and then they kicked me out . Apparently, you need to wear a helmet once you reach a certain time and I met it on my first pass.

R/T- .290
60’- 1.975
330- 5.54
MPH- 64.53
1/8- 8.48
MPH- 82.36

I’m going to head back to the track, with a helmet on Thursday for two more passes. I’m hoping an 8.3x can be achieved with out cooling upgrades .

I ran my stock srt with a needswings intake on a dyno and included a probe to the intake. At the 5500 rpm mark I had 14.1 psi boost with the original pulley, FYI

Enjoy, Woody

I am affraid I can under no cercumstance find a reason one's boost could possably go up or down with a change of either hot or cooler plugs. I can see how it may change how it may perform but HOW can it change Boost?

Think one or more of the old pluggs are bad.
The car feels like newbourne when i put on the new one.

I dont know why the car reduce the boostpressure, Probobly becouse to save the engine.

PS. I drive with Beru sparkplug.

Thanks for the fyi! I will be sure to monitor the gauge at my next dyno run on 06/12/08.

I pulled the manifold and rechecked the tap, didn’t notice anything wrong. Could the "low" boost level result from running on a 1/8 track and not allowing the car to reach full load

Im think exactly like you, byt after all cheeck on the car i only have one thing left to do (change the sparkpluggs) and it fix my problems.

I dont know whats happend with the pressure when something is wrong with egnition.

Perhaps one or more spark plugs were not fully screwed into their
recesses, causing a small compression leak? Could that even be possible?

Thumbs up Re: 181-Pulley Fact, Fiction or Matter of Opinion?

Boost problem resolved thanks to waldig FYI, full load was the answer. I went onto a nice straight section of highway and began testing, 2:00 am with no traffic. TC off and auto stick activated, around a speed of 110 the gauge had a boost reading of 18, then I shut it down. I repeated this test three times and like clock work the gauge read 18. The car is adjusting nicely to the pulley; my butt dyno is beginning to tell me so .

As previously stated, I will return to the track tomorrow expecting to run an 8.3xx but we will see.

Okay 181 guys, track testing came to a close today and four passes were made. My best time came on the third run and the fourth run was for fun against an SRT 8 Jeep. I don’t know how you guys running on street tires get your 60’ in the 1.8xx but if I could do that, well look for yourself .

1st
R/T- .410
60’- 2.226
330- 6.010
MPH- 63.61
1/8- 8.894
MPH- 83.65

2nd
R/T- .497
60’- 2.079
330- 5.621
MPH- 65.26
1/8- 8.527
MPH- 83.19

3rd
R/T- .356
60’- 1.946
330- 5.465
MPH- 64.81
1/8- 8.344
MPH- 83.41

It was a good day and the temp was 95. I had to start wearing a helmet because of my 8.48 during the last visit. Today spectators wondered why the hell I was wearing a helmet but track officials knew why. People were coming up to me asking, “how much are you spraying”. The mod’d ricers staging against me thought they had an easy kill, until the helmet went on. The SRT8 had a CAI/ ECU adjustment and ran a 8.4xx to my disappointing 8.8xx, 60’ foot killed me again . Next comes the dyno.

Side note:
I can obtain a boost level of 19 consistently and a/f meter fluctuation has slowed down. A/F meter use to fluctuate rapidly through the three ranges but a noticeably slower, steady fluctuation occurs now.

SRT-8 Cherokee's in the 1/8th mile are filled with win. Gotta love AWD.

Looks like you would have beat the GC srt8 on your 3rd run! Hard to believe the way jeeps pull from a dig, nice times! (looks like I need a pulley, but which one??? maybe 178 and a code3 ???)

Is it me or is your trap mph's seem very low for the mods you have? I would figure at least 86 mph in the 1/8.

Yeah, I knew I could have won if my 60' was good but you have to love AWD.
Stay tuned because dyno numbers are soon to come for this setup. I can’t sale you on any of the pulleys but this testing is meant to limit certain speculations .

I thought my trap speeds were low as well, until comparing similar slips on dragtimes.com. Those running about the same trap time as me, have faster trap speeds with a slightly better 60’. They also posted outside temps in the 50’s- 60’s- 70’s while ALL my runs have been in 90+ degree heat. So, they have faster trap speeds but there times are not that much better than mine, at a slower trap speed. I should have a trap time of 8.2xx but my testing approach contributes to my inexperience when adjusting too the extra power . This setup really pulls from 80ish up and would really shine on a 1/4 track .

SL55 intake and 181 pulley walk the walk, while my track and dyno numbers talk the talk .

Did u dyno yet??? I got fhe mod bug!!!! Im thinkn i like your setup but there seems to be some choices and i like what iv read about Needswings and the 178 & code3 pulleys possibly combo the 2. From what i read cooling the charge(added heat) is an issue.

I haven’t been able to post in a while but here is what’s going on. Bad situation but a nice picture nonetheless .

Did your car get hit? Seems like the six has a target on it lately. Nice wheels by the way.
