Car is currently getting fitted for a roll bar at "world renowned Ken Keir Race Cars" I think I'm going to go ahead and have a 6 or 8 point installed, Because I keep thinking I'll just slow it down, but thats no fun! So press ahead right? Or Have I lost my f****ng mnd? As far as the car holding up, I think she likes this stuff. All the numbers are perfect from the datalogger and I pulled the plugs they look great, afr is perfect, egt is great, I think she wants more! I'll send a oil sample out to my vendor in a couple of day for analysis and go from there!

Jeff, you are the MAN. Since meeting at your shop, I've been following your exploits with great anticipation. Can't believe your new time! Then going through this thread my heart suddenly sank. No rollbar?!? Going to back off to 11.5?!?! It can't be. Thankfully, you've had a change of heart and are going for the rollbar. Keep driving those times down. Hope to see you at the next XF shop day.

An XF with a roll cage? It blows the mind, mine specifically!

Today I got to race one of our big brothers the SL55, it still had temp tags on it. Them things are silly fast. He went 12.15 @ 115 and I believe he was stock. Of course they cost about a 100k, and he was none to pleased after getting whooped by a 23K crossfire!

Again, that is an awesome run...don't care what others may think of N2O - speed is speed and you are definitely pushing the limits!

Keep it up and keep sharing the Videos.

As far as horsepower I don't think the trans can take much more power, in fact today I backed the shot down to 100 because trans was shifting a little weak. I think it can make a better time though with maybe a little slower trap. Tommorow I'm going to work on some gear options and smaller wheels and tires, I think this is where the lower times will come from. I averaged 11.50 @ 125 mph today.

Averaging 11.5s at 125mph is moving! Thanks for the info on the tranny. That is a tough spot to be in - making too much power for the heavy duty MB tranny to take! I wish I had problems like that. Best of luck with it. I am pulling for you to hit the 10's and for the tranny to stay in one piece.

Might be time to start shopping for a good tranny guy that specializes in MB transmissions to upgrade the clutch packs and fluid flow in yours. I large transmission cooler might not be a bad idea either to help control the heat.

Cheers,
KrzyFast

Since MD is not posting here as often anymore, I'll post his new Dyno numbers. He pulled a 513hp and 541tq to the wheels!!! on a dynocom industries dyno. This is from his post over on srtforums. Those 10's are around the corner.

With those numbers the only thing that could keep him from 10's is traction.

when will you guys go the turbo route, I want to see some wild 9 second cars!

I don't get it!?
would John Force remove his Blower and replace it with a turbo if he wanted to go faster????
Blowers/SuperChargers are the ONLY answer in the quarter mile no one wants Turbo lag for low ET's.
I realise turbo are very powerful so don't attact me about the loss of horse power with a S/C but for the quarter there is NO SUBSTITUTE!
enjoy the ride...

Last time I checked, turbo lag was insignificant on the drag strip. You brake launch at the tree, and you'll build up boost for your launch.... there will be zero turbo lag at that point... and if you're running a stick shift, a 2-step will do the same thing... turbo lag and the turbo's nonlinear power delivery are much bigger issues on a track and the street.

Lol I see cars with big turbos take forever to spool up at the track all the time. In fact my friends supra runs high 8's in the 1/8 mile but traps 92mph where his car takes so long to spool up.

I don't know about you guys but I always thought the srt6 was a bit high in CR department
Huh? A 9.0:1 CR for the SRT6 is not high at all. A 10.2:1 CR for the BMW 335 is high... that's even higher than the 10.0:1 CR of the N/A crossfires... The N/A crossfires don't need lower CR pistons to get started on boost, and the SRT6's should be fine with their 9.0:1 as well. Plus, replacing your rotating assembly isn't exactly the most economical power upgrade, and you've got other failure points that'll break before the rotating assembly... like the tranny (stickshift specifically)... the 5-speed auto should be good for a little more punishment... until you've got an intake, exhaust, headers, and underdrive pulleys, you shouldn't even think about pistons.. and you shouldn't be thinking about dropping your CR and your displacement unless you're either already boosted or you're planning to rev that sucker to 7000+ rpm.

Wow... what kind of 1/4 mile time is he running.. is it stick or auto? And what kind of power? Even at the 800rwhp level, the LS1's I know avoid turbo lag w/ 2-steps. My understanding is that proper planning in design can mitigate lag, even with bigger turbos.
