Dude I thought the same thing until I finally got my hands on one. Dealer maintained local car from day ONE. Pristine shape and I took very gentle care of it. With the SMG transmissison it was annoying as **** to drive first of all... That alone puts it at a HUGE disadvantage to the SRT. Then I had an engine lifter style tick the BMW dealer NEVER would resolve for me and kept telling me was NORMAL... My (2nd) worst BMW experience after the 7 Series I have now. Sad because every single bimmer I owned prior was nearly flawless.

I don't miss that car one iota. If you knew what I dumped it for you would come through the monitor and smack me yourself I'm sure.

 

I have almost 25K on mine. Only issues were headlights replaced under warranty, new radio head unit and I do hope the roof strip wil be covered.

30,000 miles...I bought it with 21,000.

Only two problems had the inside door handle on drivers side replaced as it seperated and sliced the end of three fingertips off.
And the windshield surround clips starting giving up and the dealer replaced them and installed another surround.

I have 24,000 now and the only thing replaced were the foglights.

 

To each their own, for sure... but I think you're nuts. Trade an SRT-6 for
an M3 BMW? Tell me you are not serious. I've left too many M3's in the
dust, and the styling of the SRT-6 is too cool to ever think that an M3 would
be something I'd trade my 6 for. No way!

13,000 when I purchased my aero blue SRT roadster in Nov. 'o7, now have 18,500. Only prob. steering damper just replaced under warranty.

 

These days, I 100% agree with you...

M3= Noisy, expensive to repair, prissy, SMG crap.

335i or E46 330i ZHP (Performance pack), now THOSE are the unsung heroes of the 3 Series world. The M3 is just the easy way out.

yeah but coyote you also have a modded srt-6. and once mods get thrown in all bets are off on who can win because the other person can just have done more. but the m3 has a 0-60 a half a second faster than our cars. and i think the looks of a m3 are just gorgeous

 

Its been a while since I read the owner's manual, but I believe the passenger seat does not have an up-down adjustment, although the controls look the same. You can cross that one off the list!

 

Slightly modded now, but not when I started whuppin' *ss on M3s. Took
one from a light coming out of Cartersville, Ga. on US41. We ran up to
about 130 before he got off the gas, and he was falling behind from the
get go. Another from a 55 mph rolling start fell on I-75 late at night with
no other traffic around. I don't even bother with them, now that I have the
Sl55 and Code3.
