Default Saw a Roush Stage 1 today...

While exercising my SRT-6 roadster this afternoon (warm, sunny--beautiful day to have an SRT-6 roadster!), I saw a red Roush Stage 1 Mustang. The car looked wicked and the guy driving it looked like a douchebag. I imagine this is not unusual. Anyway, neither of us was looking to play and we were in heavy traffic but it got me wondering how my SRT would stack up. The Stage 1s have tire and exhaust upgrades. Brake upgrades are an option. My SRT is stock except for the K&N air filters. I imagine the Stage 1 tires improve handling over the stock GT and the exhaust upgrade might give him a few more ponies. I think it would be close.

Has anyone ever run against one of these?

Well considering the Stage 3 is about 415hp + all that weight I'd say it'd be a good race and probably a loss against a Stage 3. So a Stage 1 should be a few car lengths (depending on the jump), but you really never know what's lurking under that hood. There was a Roush at the track on Thursday but didn't run. I was curious to see what it could do.

Stangs are still pretty heavy plus traction issues

S1 is a joke and is basically an "I'd like to LOOK/SOUND fast" package. They are just as slow; if not more slow, than a regular GT. Out here in vegas they are mid to low 14 second cars.

American idea of a performance car, take stock base model and slap on the cheap plastic fender, wing and bumpers. oooohhh wow! what engineering. no wonder I'm seeing Ford dealerships going out of business all over California, lol

Guess your local FORD dealer isn't like mine......
They have a NEW big block mustang with a SC that rocks!
And my Wifes Exploder that she had before the one she has now had no problem installing the SC from the lightning and warranting everything!!
Boy did that grocery getter surprise a few people!

K.K.

As you've got intake, pulleys, and a tune, I'd hope so!
