Anyone own a Covercraft Evolution 4 Car Cover?
It states it is a heavy impact resistant cover and the price is great. They now have one custom made for the srt6 and I was thinking about purchasing one. Does anyone here own one and can you comment on the quality and fit? How thick is the material it is made out of?
I have 2 Evolution 4 covers. One for the Ram Quad and one for the Magnum SRT. (it is the same material as the factory Mopar covers)
You can get the this material from several cover manufacturers - I think my brand is WOLF.
Both mine fit very well material is thick for a cover so it is classified as an indoor/outdoor cover. However it is not thick enouch to cushion a heavy impact, but I do not expect a cover to be able to do that. It is far more than an interior dust cover. overall a reasonable material for the price.
They are fairly bulky for storage - but the current ones I have are LARGE.

They have some decent ones from empire. their website has a computer generation tool so you can see what the cover looks like on and off the car pretty cool.

I have two of the Covercraft Evolution 4 for srt-6. They fit very well. The mirrow pockets allows the sides to cling closer to the car body. This helps keep air from getting under the cover and lifting it off your car. The material isn't near as thick as I expected. Not that much extra protection from car door dents or hail storms. Water goes straight thru the cover when it gets soaked. The quilting seperated on one cover down both sides. CoverCraft replaced the sides only and now the other cover is seperating. They think birds or chipmunks may have picked at the inside quilting for nesting materal, causing the complete seperation. Dirt dust fallout goes straight thru it. It breaths! My next cover will be waterproof so when I remove the cover,The car will be clean. Squirrel Crusher
Squirrel,
Agreed. I use mine for the SRT6 that is outside. I havent had any separation issues though. You do need to use the tie down loops when the wind gets heavy. I have had the cover lift off the front and back in heavy wind when not strapped underneath. The mirror pockets do keep it on the car though.
I would like to find one that is water proof though and then use my current one on the garaged car.

If the car ever gets wet when covered you do not want a waterproof cover. You will end up with clouded paint from the trapped moisture. (and possible other problems)
Waterproof would be ok for inside use only - so why bother....I guess it would keep the fine dust off the car.
