Default proper launch

this is my way of getting a good launch, please let me know if i am doing something wrong and if i can do something to improve my launching
1-drop into 1st gear
2-turn off traction
3-foot on brake, right foot on gas to 1800 rpm
4-once ready to go, right foot goes down while left foot goes off brake and i let the transmission shift itself

anything wrong with this? maybe im launching at too low of rpm?

I've only been to the track once at the US 41 event, May 17th I think. I pretty well done what you said except when I let off the brake I floored it. I was running Hoosier DR's and pulled off 3 or 4 - 1.7 60 foot times and several 1.8's. I wasn't watching the tach much, I was just giving it all the gas pedal I could until it started to push me.

I was actually practicing in my parking lot at work the other day since its so clean and freshly paved. the best results i felt were TC off left foot on brake, right holding at about 1200 and i let off the brake while pushing down the gas smoothly( I don't just jab it down to the floor). I still have the Conti's on so others maybe be able to launch at a higher rpm. But basically quickly as you can push that peddle down with the traction NOT kicking in is your sweet spot! Everyone will be a little different because of tire and road conditions.
