I got bit by the "P0410" check engine light bug...but did i fix it??
So I had a check engine light come on what I ASSUME was yesterday. I really have no idea because the light is PERFECTLY covered by my cruise control lever.
I only saw the light last night because I looked to my left and saw "thgil enigne" reflected in the window.
Anyway, I had the code pulled (P0410) "Secondary Air Injection System Fault" which seems to be a common one.
So mulled over taking the car to the dealer (its under warranty, but I just would rather not spend the time it take for these tards to diagnose something). I was poking around the engine bay and saw that the air pump hose was disconnected from the pump.
*its reattached in the photo*

So I reconnected it and the check engine light is still on.
Few Questions:
1) Should the cell correct itself, or will the code need to be cleared?
2) Does this sound like it would cause the cell?
3) Is removing the battery terminal the easiest way to clear codes on this car (happy to say this is my first cell)?

Best thing is to disconnect the battery for 20 minutes or longer.
This should do a hard reset to all codes.
After reconnecting the battery you may have the BAS ESP light on.
Simply turn the steering wheel fully to the left and then fully to the right to turn it off.

Reset the batter and took her for a spin on Sunday. The light never came back on. Looks like its taken care of, but I'd like to put a few more starts/miles on it to be sure.

Just want to say thanks to the forum for the priceless information
I fought many bas/esp issues, if you geta simple code reader, read codes then reset the fault to clear them. If they dont go away, pm me. Woody
This post just saved my current road trip,THANK YOU
.I traveled about 700 miles on tuesday, to Kelona BC (got lost) Wednesday I started for the ferrys from Vancouver, to take me across to Victoria BC, 30 miles into the trip my Check Engine light came on !!!! its southern British Columbia, nothing but mountains and water.I'm on BC hwy 3, Penticton -Princton-Hope,and hope was 200 miles away
The drive was fantastic, and the Crossfire worked without any problems, the only problem was in my mind that the motor may blow!. Cutting the story short ,this morning I disconnected the battery, reconnected after 20 mins, BINGO, no alarm light, left the hotel in Victoria for a test run, and was so happy I did 200 mile and still no light. I was on the trans canada for a short time then turned off to Soouk , then to Jordan River and all the way to Port Renfew, the start/end of the Pacific Coastal Hiking trail..What a great ride, not unlike the road to Hana on Maui, SO today was a real rush just due to the info available on Crossfireforum.org-Thanks Guys
