Default Crossfire Roadster //Crossfire Coupe

On wed Sept 17 we took two srt-6's to the 1/ mile track, here is what happened
Car #1 Crossfire Coupe ---------Crossfire Roadster
grille mod -------------------------181 pully
Jerry's tune -----------------------Jerry's tune
stock rear tires-------------------- stock rear tires
true duel exhaust------------------ needwings intake
driver jim/amx1397----------------- driver randy/rmaderman
3 runs left lane ---------------------5 runs left lane
4 runs right lane --------------------3 runs right lane
------------these are the best of the night--------
8.65 @ 83.1 rt 0.732 ----------------8.61 @ 83.0 win rt 0.579
8.78 @ 81.3 win rt o.789 ------------8.72 @ 81.0 rt 0.926
best 60" = 2.0 two of the runs------- best 60" 2.1 two of the runs

the other runs we were spinning bad,, yet Randy ran another car ( the only other person there and ran 8.61 I think) we got there at 7:17 and left at 8:30.

The question is why is there only a few tenths defferance between the two cars, yet one has pully, tune, and intake, and the other only has the tune, and exhaust jim

The Roadster weighs about 88 pounds more than the Coupe wich might a have something to do with it.

By the end of the 1/4 mile it would be a bigger difference. Plus 1/8 is all about the launch which you seem to do better.

Drivers weights, air pressure in tires, different launch styles. Try same driver same technique with different cars.

The pulleys add more midrange torque, which usually kicks in past the 660' mark. In the 1/4 mile it will add up to a tenth or more, which translates to a car length or more. If your within a thousandth it usually within a fender or bumper. Still great racing and good side by side action. Times won't change from reaction times, but win light is usually won on that. So it's possible for you to win a heads up race with him, just based on RT. Way to have fun at the track.

My coupe ran between the following times with each mod here in the TX heat. I know you’re in FL, so its not an apples to apples comparison but the fundamentals should be consistent.

Stock/ 8.7x- 8.6x
SL55/ 8.5x- 8.4x
181 / 8.4x- 8.2x
Tune/ 8.3x- 8.1x (this is an est. becasue I don't have a tune yet)
That’s with a 2.0-2.2 60’ consistently, never anything lower than 2.0 and anything higher than a 2.3 was trashed.

I found my average runs were 8.4xx, which coincides with the happy median of the SL55/181 times. I think you need to compare averages and not just the best runs; rmaderman should have you by at least .2 on a 1/8 track.

Just my .02 cents, spend it wisely…

My SRT roadster weighs 200 lbs more than your coupe. I had a full tank of gas you had 1/2 tank. You weigh 25 lbs more than me.(LOL) You are a more experienced driver on the track. You ran w/ 31 PSI. I had 36.

Those differences must be worth at least 5 full seconds!

Seriously, they might make a few tenth difference in a 1/4 mile, but with mods I have, I should be whopping your XXXXXtt.
