Default Question about "blow off valve" sound

I just recently installed the Code 3 phelonic spacers a month ago and the Needswings intake a good 6 or 7 months ago and everything up until yesterday looked and sounded to be fine, when I heard something I never heard before. I was just reving my car after a 20 minute drive and I heard what sounded exactly like a quiet blow off vavle off of a turbo car. I had my brother come out and rev the car for me while I stood over the engine bay and I noticed that the sound seemed to be coming from the Needswings intake, towards where the filter was installed under the grille. I'm wondering if this is normal or if in my struggle to install the Code 3 phelonic spacers around the Needswings intake I might have shaken something loose. Or maybe my ears are playing tricks on me and the sound is actually coming from the intake manifolds, a possible cause of not getting the proper seal when installing the gaskets. I have reved the engine before with the phelonic spacers on it and I dont recall ever hearing that sound before thats why I'm asking. What do you guys think?

Are you having any operational issues? Its computer controlled and it will b**ch if you have done a no no. Boost all good? A leak would dampen your power a good bit.

You sure you're not hearing the sound of the intake sucking in air? As soon as you tap the gas you'll hear it take a big gasp.

If its a high pitched squeak, id say possibly a boost/vac leak. You are hearing air squeeze between 2 peices of metal or something.

Because of many engineering aspects, (aluminum grade, diameter, flow charistics, etc.) the NW intake does whistle at certain RPM's.

Mine does the same thing......actually I kind of like it. On more than one occasion I've had people ask if it was turbocharged.

Mine does when I just get into positive pressure (boost). I dont know if is caused by the NW CAI or if it just amplified the sound so you can hear it.

I think this is what I'm hearing hah. I don’t know how I didn’t hear that noise till a few days ago but I guess I just don’t pay attention very well hah. Can't complain it does sound pretty cool actually. And gotta love the little whistling noise that the needswings gives at cruising rpms too, I turn off my radio sometimes just to hear it. Thanks a lot for all the help and sorry for the useless thread hah. Helped me out though if I didn’t have ya guys I might of started tearing apart things to fix something that aint broke. Thanks again, till next time.

When Im barely touching the gas I get a really high pitched but quiet whine. I figure its air squeezing between the throttle plate and throttle body, since the plate is only cracked open when cruising and barely touching the gas.

And then of course at full pedal it whines loud.

If it's air leaking between a couple of pieces of metal, , boost/vacuum leak, or any of the other myriad of things I've heard then you have it installed wrong.

I already told you all it was just a harmonic carried in the aluminum.

Don't believe the guy with the prototype on his car, that had 20 different combinations of the intake on his car, dyno'd it on his car, 1/4 miled it on his car, and has talked with Rob many times. What do I know?
