Default CTS-V Jacka$$!! (long version)

So, my wife and I are cruising down the GW Memorial Parkway on our way to the park when a brand new 09 CTS-V comes flying right up on my bumper. He was driving erratically and was apparently pi$$ed because he was boxed in. Well, I punched it and put about 2 car lengths on him before he realized it. He comes flying past me in the other lane only to get stuck behind a minivan. I drove by slowly. He got back behind me, right on my bumper (probably only inches from it). It was uncomfortable, so I slapped it into 2nd and floored it putting about a car length on him before I slowed down due to an oncoming intersection. Well, he stayed in the gas and blew by me only to stop way before the light. He was waiting for me. My wife put the window down. I was expecting questions about the car, or some positive car-guy conversation. Boy, was I wrong! This 50 year old guy was shaking with adrenalin with veins popping out of his head says, "You ain't got nothing on me! That (my SRT) is a V6, this here is a V8!" I said, yeah, a supercharged V6 that weighs almost half that of your car. He replied, "This is supercharged too and has over 400 horsepower. You can't handle this and can't afford it. Don't even try to run it!" He then started sputtering and speaking in toungs about 0-60mph times and etc. while shaking and spitting. The light turned green and I went on my way. He made a smoking burn out u-turn and left. This guy must have just purchased this car and was utterly pi$$ed that someone dare out run him and had actually pulled away from him. He obviously didn't know much about his car either. Those put out over 550 hp and can run 0-60 in a tick over 4 seconds. He seemed like the guy who walks into a dealership and says, "I want the most expensive and fastest car you have. " Those guys only know what the dealer tells them and maybe read a little about it in a brochure.

These new CTS-Vs will most likely kill SRT-6s; however, I don't think he expected the exceleration. I caught him off guard and then didn't stay in it long enough for him to catch up and pass, which probably added to his frustration. I did short spurts because I do not need to crash, get tickets, or endanger anyone else for someone's ego.

Just thought I'd share. I have never met such a complete jacka$$ as this guy. This was a 50+ year old dude acting worse than a spoiled rotten teenager with his dad's Corvette.

No wonder he was alone in the car... Poor soul has been left by others his entire life, turning his jerk self into an even more bitter person. An expensive car is his way of gaining acceptance from others that he could never gain in life. The problem is... That acceptance and respect is gone once he steps out of the car.

And judging by his personality, its not there when hes in the car either.

I feel bad.

What an idiot. His wife probably just dumped him so this was his midlife crisis car and you shattered his dreams in a faster car WITH you wife whom you still are married to...LOL

And ill gladly race a 550lb crank hp overweight cadillac with a "typical" cadillac driver.

Yep I'm with 240 bring him on. If not you could always yank him out of the car at the next intersection and show him how quick your reaction time is.

lmao, now that is funny. can you imagine how furious he was the rest of the way home? hopefully you see him around again so you can antagonize him a little more. if you do see him be sure to rev your engine and point at him then give him a thumbs down to set him off lol. irritating idiots like that is one of my most favorite things to do lmao.

I don't know guys... Those CTS-V's are no joke! Stock they go in the high 11's low 12 second range with a bunch of mph. I think like 117? I would race one, but it would be a drivers race. lol

Here is the graph. As you can see, he picked up a bit of power and torque. I was not actually expecting very much in the way of a gain. We did back up the pulls, and everything matched up good. The next mod is an exhaust system for this sleeper.

I'm not worried about the pre-2009 models. This one was a 2009, which has the new $110,000 ZR1's supercharged engine. Nearly 600 hp and is suspected of being underestimated by the mfg. They cost around 70 grand.

It would have to fellate me on my daily commute before I wasted 70Gs on a car. And you need 600hp when your car weighs as much as a school bus.
You could put a blown 6.1 Hemi in your Crossfire and buy a spare SRT6 for the money that moron spent on that thing.

I have NO respect for anybody who thinks they deserve to brag about a car's ability when all they did was afford it. Only the factory engineers deserve that kind of respect.

The CTS-V pictured in this thread is a good looking car. Give credit where due. And six-lug wheels!

But not as sexy from the rear as a Crossfire.

the ctsv is beautiful and really fast, it is one hell of a car.

400ft/lbs of torque at 1000rpms lmao and 0-60 in 3.9 seconds now that is great! They are fast as hell, it cracks me up when people hate on them (not talking about the idiot driver in this thread).

They are amazing cars, I would trade my srt6 for one any day.

I didn't realize they were out already. I thought the prices had just been released in the past couple days.

The CTS-V is an awesome car, but honestly I'd rather have a Corvette, even if its the C6. People just don't react to much to a cadillac, its just another family car in the eyes of most people on the road. If you're all about performance though then yup it seems like a great buy at $70K considering its engine setup.

I agree, the 09 CTS-V is one fast car, but the problem with it is it weighs 4200 pounds. Thats about 1000 lbs more than our cars. Not my idea of a sports anything! Especially not a sports sedan.

evidentally it is not much of a problem considering it is much faster and handles better completely stock than a srt6.
