TVT tune question
Hey guys, I'd like to get my ecu done, but here in Australia there is no one to do it. I have found one guy that does slk 2 amgs, will that be a good idea?
My other option is to send it to the USA for a tvt tune.....but will a service wipe it?
Thanks....input appreciated!

If you have someone you know to be competent with the AMG C32/SLK32 tune you will be fine as its the same thing. TVT is a reputable vendor so if theres any doubts of your guy just use him.
The MB service facility can wipe out the tune if you dont bring it to their attention.
Most tuners will save your tune on backup and will be happy to put it right back for free. Confirm this with your tuner prior to purcahse.

www.inmotionusa.com is another option the fastest have been using, but like 240 said if you have someone there doing slk32's then it's the same ECU and you should be fine.

We are actually working with a company in Germant to offer tunes through them. If you have a company that uses similar hardware to ours we can work with them to get you the proper tune.
We basically have them email us your stock file, we work our magic, and email back to them. They flash it and you are extra happy!

I guess my next question is how much faster do you want to get? Add the crank pulley and then InMotion tune and you'll have exactly what I have. You can send your ECU to InMotion or pay a $2000 deposit and he will send you the equipment to flash the car yourself. The custom tune from IM is $500 regardless how many times you have it redone. The best thing for you is he already has data for each mod step you mentioned with great results. I was plenty fast with the intake and pulley alone. The tune after those was crazy. My times speak for themselves. Now I will be honest and let you know it's a waste to mod anymore than the intake if your not considering drag radials. Otherwise you will just spin tires and make lots of noise like a mustang.

Also, a suggestion: if I were you, since you're in Australia, I would seriously consider the InMotion tune. The single feature that will be attractive to you is that InMotion puts a chip socket onto your ECU, and send you back your original chip. So you have the original, and the upgraded, and you can switch back and forth. Why is that important? Well, dealerships have been known to reflash your ECU when you take it in for service - even for something as simple as an oil change!! That will wipe out your tune, and force you to mail your ECU back to the tuner for reflash. Shipping from down under probably isn't cheap, and your car won't run without an ECU. With InMotion, even if you forget to swap your chips before taking it in for service, and they reflash over your upgraded tune, you just put the original chip back in and drive the car, and only ship the chip back to InMotion.
No offense to the services offered by TVT or LET or any of the other tuners. But considering your location, this seems like an important point to make.

I can tell the car is capable of much better quarter mile times, but it just can't get the traction to do it. I spin tire the first 30 or 60 feet of the track if I'm not careful. Even if I'm careful, I can still break the tires loose after I get moving. Drag radials are coming in the spring. Without them, there's no way I'll be able to race effectively.
