Default throttle response

I traded my limited for a blue srt6 coup last week with 851 miles on the odmeter. I bought it from a dealership that was closing. The dealership owner used it as his personal toy. I was not able to talk the owner only the salesman the srt6 has a very aggresive throttle responce is this typical to the srt or is it possible it has a sprint booster installed. How would i know if there is a sprint booster installed?

Other than checking behind the pedal, do this test:

1. Accelerate using half gas pedal.

2. Accelerate using full gas pedal.

3. Compare

If they are similar, you have a sprintbooster. It shrinks the pedal's response into the first half of travel, making the transmission extremely responsive to the slightest change in input.

if I had a more aggressive throttle response that I'm getting with my coupe, I could get in real trouble ... but, I'd have a hell of a lot of fun doing it ...

sorry I have no useful information to impart ...

it may just be that you are not used to there being over 100hp more in the SRT-6!!!

you will have to look up the sprint booster install in the 'search' area of the forum, to take apart that area and find the sprint booster. also, he may have an ECU tune as well....

welcome to the wonderful world of SRT-6 ownership! i love this car!!!!

What are the last six of the VIN? There's a thread going that we're using to track the production figures.

if it was dealer owned, then I really doubt any mods were ever done, because they couldn't sell it as new...and would have to reveal the mods to you...dealers rarely mod anything...they just drive what they want when they want too...

Look under the gas peddle and see if the is a extra connecter about 6 " of extra wire in other words if you have wire longer than 6 to 8 " with our a connecter the no but if it has a conector connected to the wire and then to the gas peddle then yes. jim

After some time of driving slow and easy it has became far less aggresive. I guess it's safe to say no it does not have a srint booster. thanks for the help. I will be getting a sprint booster soon.

That was the first mod I did and it was one of the best. Just have to fight the nut that holds the throttle pedal down, out. Magnet is one way but mine was a stinker and would not yield without significant effort. Enjoy, WOODY

LOL, this damned washer . I got mine out with two-component adhesive on a socket. Had to wait one night until the adhesive was dry enough to pull the washer out.

Sprintbooster rocks!

The more you drive it the less agressive it gets, until it gets downright timid.

THEN IT'S MOD TIME! BOOGATA BOOGATA SHU!

I took me about two weeks.

I would really like to buy one of those little critters but the $300 should probably go toward a tune first.

LOL... ever sense mine has been in I've been having a hard time fighting the nut that holds the throttle pedal down. Is it just me or is anyone else having the same problem?

I wasn't able to remove it on mine. I removed the panel to the right of the pedal using a philips screw driver.

This comment was just a joke about my driving.
