And then it is not even N.O.S. it is "naws".

Awesome. And yeah it is sad that N20 became NOS...but remember NOS is the company that pioneered N20 technology... so I guess it's no different than all carbonated soft drinks being called "coke" in parts of the country

Isn't NOS Nitrous Oxide Systems, and N2O the chemical name for Nitrous Oxide? (Can any racers elaborate?)

I can't blame them for changing it to NOS. If I'm correct, from a marketing standpoint, they've become the household name, and therefore eliminated competition.

Yep.. like he said ^^^^ NOS has done what every company tries to do with positive branding... There company is now the word most people use. Kinda like did you "google" it? Google now is commonly used to describe an internet search. Good job on there part.

No problem with N.O.S. the company, I HATE "naws". It was clearly a mistake by some one that had no clue what N.O.S. stood for - they just read the bottle......

 

Not bad... But should be quicker times. Someone on here is running low 11's w/NOS. I may break into the 11's soon without NOS like some other folks have...

 

That would all depend on his mods and size shot he is using. If he has a NW intake,pulley,tune and a good launch technique I would suspect an 11.7 would be achievable with a 75 shot. Anybody who runs NAWS care to elaborate on what size shot will get you whatever times with the above mods?

I agree, and I'm sure he is probably spinning too much off the line, unless he hit's it when 3rd gear is activated. Maybe he'll chime in soon. Inquiring minds want to know!

 

If that is MD then he tried different levels of N2O. I his best time was 10.9 with a 150 shot. Go to Dragtimes.com and see the top 3 times. He list what he was using. But he has retired the car and selling off all the mod's so his son can drive it.

Where I live it's "nos" we are a little country what can I say? Making a copy is still xeroxing too if you need to blow your nose it's kleenex you need. Anyway this run was early on when I was still learning how to run nitrous safely, I went on to run a 10.71 with the nitrous and 11.59 without. I no longer race the car, but still have it in the family. You guys have fun beating those records down even lower in the future!

 

when did this 11.59 occur? Any details? I thought your best was a 11.7 on just boost?
