Has anyone ever ran out there? It is managed by the same people that used to run our local track, which is now closed. I was supposed to make it out to Ennis last month but some things came up and the 3hour trip was not possible. Rusk is about 2hrs from me and I'm thinking about trying to get some folks to head down there maybe early February after the holidays. Anyone interested or have any info in the track? I know it's at 515 above sea level and their T&T schedule goes through february, so the DA should be very nice.

Shelton, I believe it is about an hour SE of Athens. Athens is 75 miles SE of Dallas.

From the pics it looks pretty decent and It is only 4 years old. I'll try to find out more info. I think I'll be ready early February to give it a shot.

 

Headers, tires, and more fuel are on the way for my baby.

yeah I know this is the time everyone usually upgrades, so I figure if we wait till February everyone will have time to get their cars ready. Lets set a date for February 15th. Think you will be ready by then?

I have a few plans in the works and waiting on some parts, plus with the holidays there is just too much stuff going on. If you want to go sooner and check it out since your closer that would be cool, then we can have a little meet in Feb.

 

I sent them an e-mail with some questions so I will let everyone know. I would like to go within a few weeks so I'll keep everyone posted.

Seems the owner plans to use the track for something else.? WTF!

Good news for me, is that someone bought Red River Raceway and plans to re-open by spring, so at least I'll have somewhere to race legally again.

 

I did get a response and the track is open with weather above 50 degrees and no rain throughout the winter. Unfortunately tomorrow is supposed to be only in the low 40's.

track is closed guys, so no meet Maybe Ennis in the spring or TMS. Apparently the owner is crazy and an *******. He said no more cars will go down the track. WTF?

This is what I received today as well. Just last week, they told me all was a go.

We will no longer be racing on Dec. 28th. CCMP is now closed, and as of right now does not look to re-open. Please check the message board for further info.
