Default Bonneville and son

Just wondering if the previous owner of my car is on this fourm. It is a black srt-6. I bought is at Bonneville and son. I recently brought it to a personal shop and found that there has been body work done to the car. I was not told this when i bought the car. I am trying to find this man because i would love to know what kind of accident it was in and why a paid 20 thousand for a crashed srt.

Is that Bonneville & Son in Manchester, NH?? I see you are from Boca. I bought my SRT6 last February from B&S in Manchester and there was one other bad report on them in this forum.

GEEZER

P.S. sorry to hear about your situation.

Cassidy, did you try to get a "Vehicle History Report" before you bought your car?
If the damage was severe enough to warrant an insurance pay out, there is an automatic "paper trail" on your car.
If the previous owner paid to get his car fixed "out of pocket", then the cars crash history may have slipped thru the cracks.
The dealer simply may not have known the car had previous body damage, and sometimes cars even come from the factory with damage that was repaired before the dealer took delivery.
Read your purchase contract front to back, and if it says "as is" anywhere, then you're probably out of luck when it comes to any recourse.
You can also go to your title bureau to find out the cars previous owners. Good Luck

Don't know why they wouldn't respond unless they lied to the dealer when they sold the car to him.
I was looking at a car at a dealership and though I noticed a VERY slight different shade of paint on the rear bumper. Sales guy swore that I was looking at a NEW car that had never been wrecked. I got underneath and saw some overspray and one of the bumper cover attaching bolts was totally different from the other bolts. Of course he knew nothing about that!
Later that dealer ship was put off limits to soldiers because of their shady business practices.

B & S is the dealer that had my SRT for over a month, ruined my interior (which they repaired), and replaced all of my electronics for a faulty seatbelt alarm!! By the way, they never fixed the alarm and just gave up on fixing the problem! Luckily I didn't buy my car from them, I bought it from Carlson's Chrysler in Concord!

I live in DC now, but Carlson's was pretty good. Not as fancy, but did good work.

My suggestion-- Many members have carfax accounts. Start a new thread requesting a carfax. PM the person that will help, with your vin. They can email you the carfax, if you really want to know. Or, you can subscribe yourself.
$30 charge for one carfax. I live by carfax. I have bought two cars in the last year. I uncovered so many rip offs, it was scary. Now ever incident isn't alway caught/reported. I had a truck which was in two accidents, carfax only sited one. If I went to dealer, and they say clean carcax. Many times they are referring to a clean title not clean of accidents.
Don't take this the worry way, but buyer beware. A $30 carfax on a $20K car is .15% cash investment.

Also, do a search on the forum for the last 6 digits of your VIN. There's an extensive thread of posted VIN numbers. It's a good chance that it is there, and a good chance that the previous owner posted the number.

We did get a car fax and there was nothing about the car in a wreck or anything so thats why we got it. It wasn't until last week that I noticed the color of the panel and the door didn't match. I took out the red reflector thing and there was over spray on it. Also my interior was all messed up too. Alot of the screws were stripped out and parts were broken or not put in right. The drivers side sub was not even screwed down. Im not making a parts list of everything that is broken in my car and slowly buying new parts to fix it. I love the car and i don't want to give up on it. Down the road I am going to repaint the car so everything matches. It sucks that you just can't trust dealers anymore.

Is there really a legal issue here? I thought when it comes to used cars you buy as-is, this is why you have an independant shop do an inspection first. Trusting a dealer is no different than trusting a restaurant - they may or may not have dropped your food on the floor before serving it to you. Its a risk we all take.

Obviously I'm not arguing here, I just have a small pet peeve with people who don't take the blame for their own mistakes. Remember, the world is against you. Be ready at all times.

haha it kind of reminds me of the Iraqi contractor group that had a booklet for its workers titled "Have a plan to kill everyone you meet". There was a lot of controversy about it, but the truth is..... Its true, especially when translated to financial situations.

You are not alone in have incredibly bad luck with Bonneville & Son. Without question it is a dealership that should be avoided at all cost. Repairs, new cars, used cars, it makes no difference, they are sleazy. We can only hope that at this time of considation among auto dealers that they fall to consumer unhappiness. Vote with your feet and walk far away from these snake oil salesmen.
