Default servicing

I've got a limited Coupe at the moment but just enquired about an SRT6 at a dealer.
Now the car is a 2006 with 15,500 miles on it and when I asked about service history was told it has got FSH but because of the low mileage only needs to be done once every two years so has only had one service done.
Now I only have 18000 miles on my 2004 coupe but it has been serviced once every year as that is the spec in the service book.

So is it different for an SRT6 or is the dealer bullshitting me?

Cheers.

Norrie.

Are you sure it's a 2006 model? They only changed the oil once? Unless they did it themselves... If the owners were that cheap doubt I would buy that car although if you verify by the vin it's a 2006 it's pretty rare....

Yeah it's a late 2006.
Here's the link to the advert.
http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk...leRegLetter=56

The thing is it's a dealer that's selling it and he said they never had a service book with the car but phoned the main dealer where it was serviced and they told him that it only got serviced once every two years.
Now if it's not been serviced properly your warranty would be void as well.

Wow a black 06 srt6 coupe! Yep, definately a rare car! My wife paid about 14,085 pounds (converted from usd) for hers with 3900 miles. Let us know the last 5 numbers of the vin if you take a look at it, members here keep an ongoing database of the srt6s build order & color/coupe or roadster and this is definately a rare one. The service question with it is what I would really worry about. Let us know what you decide and find out!!

If the 15K miles is correct - and if they changed the oil and filter every 7K miles - two oil changes seems right.

If you like that bad boy - I'd buy it at that price....Low miles, nice looking, rare 06' SRT6.

I guess the synthetic oil is good for 7500 miles but that's more than I would personally do. I guess we're just safe and do it every 3000-4300 at the most. I also have done blackstone analysis on my mobil1 ow-40 in my srt8 and it still had enough additives in it...

That car is a rare one indeed! Even if you couldn't work them down any on the price I would jump on it too after fully checking it out.

Yeah I've phoned about it and there going to let me know about trading my 04 coupe.
The thing is I've now been told it has a couple of scratches on it and 3 of the wheels need refurbed which they said they would do but my 04 is minted without a mark on it so is it worth changing?
There are some 2007's for sale as well but the thing is all it means is it was registered in 2006 or 2007 not the build date.

See what you think in person... check out if the scratches can be buffed out with a good wax job or if they are down to the metal and where they are. I would look at the damage on the wheels before they fix them to see what happened. But, if they refurb the wheels to like new, balance out straight, roll good, look good and you are satisfied... personally I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If you are really determined take an extra oil filter with you, pull the old one replace with new and cut the old one in half right there on the spot or take it with you to further check out....LOL! Maybe that's extreme...

If all is good.... go buy that rare 06 SRT before any other xfire, test drive it and your mind will be made up.

That is a rare one for sure, and it's a RH drive. I think that is only the 2nd RH drive posted here. Not sure if the other was an 06' as well. Ask what the inservice date is. It was built in 05', don't recall hearing any SRT's built in 06'.

This is definately a rare one. No question in my mind as to trading the 04. Sounds good to me.

I will try and get a note of the Vin No for all you annoraks.
Just found out the road tax is £400 a year because it was registered in 06 compared to the £210 I pay just now.
In case your wondering we have to pay road tax every year on our cars and they go byt the emissions now and the Crossfire is in one of the top bands.
By the way there are some 07's advertised as well.
Here's the link.

Here's another 07 on E-Bay.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CHRYSLER-CROSS...1%7C240%3A1318

Apparently they only imported around 80 SRT6's to the U.K.

OK I've not been to see the car yet but the dealer just rang me and I got a note of the chassis number.
It's 1C3APE9N86X067509 so it looks like it is an 06 and it was registered in November 06.
I might go and see the car tomorrow.

Thank you. Wow 3 of possibly 8 total? It would be very interesting of the one's marked 07 actually had a 07' vin. Can our VIN master update the 06' VIN's?
