Coming from 6 years of running a Nuclear Machinery room on a Air Craft Carrier I can attest to the strength of three things... Zip-Ties, Duct Tape and JB Weld....

Heat and sunlight will distroy zip-ties in short order.

Not the uv resistant compesistion ones. The ones I use are about 1/3 " wide and 0.080 or so thick.

yes, it can be done with 2 shutoff valves, very easy/cheap. no need for an extra overflow the way we are running it. one of my valves tends to leak a few drops a night so i need to source out a better one before shipping off those kits.

This is probably a dumb question, but how would you check the coolant level without a separate overflow?

open valves, let ic and rad intermix, drive to flush all bubbles, close valves

Just need to cut and plug a couple of existing hoses to do the separation.

That is what I did only plugging hoses is an ugly business, never find the correct size plug and there are no caps that I feel safe with for capping the outlets. Like the goezouta fitting on the i/c aluminum lines by the radiator tank.

The water in the supercooler has never gotten hot enough to puke out for me and thats at 5 -6000 rpm for up to a minute in autocrossing in all seasons 35 to 90 degrees.

Week end again but windy and no R/C flying for me again....AAaargue.........Woody

Nope, they go through brackets on the side of the radiator.

Yes plugging hoses is ugly! Not pretty but very functional.

I will be flying RC this weekend...Really Cool in my SRT!

Did I miss the pricing on this, or if there's an initial group buy?

What happens with this closed system if/when the coolant gets hot and needs to expands/surge? Say on a long run, or a hot day or should the IC pump fail?

IMO you'll to design in a pressure relief valve. Same idea as a radiator cap or a water heater.

Without a surge tank for the coolant to expand into (or release pressure)........ You run a high risk of your intercooler bursting since it's nearest to the heat source and the weakest link and ingesting coolant into the engine.
