Default NeedWings Intake Manifolds are Cool!

NeedsWings intake manifolds are cool! Or maybe I should say they blow?!? Well, actually its the supercharger that blows the air through them - really fast!

I just got mine installed today- with a LOT of help from RickZ and +fireamx - and from Rob too. Thanks guys!

I was surprised (I don't know why) how quickly the boost comes on with these new manifolds. It's instantaneous! I kept an eye on my dashdaq and the MAP graph just goes vertical when you stomp on it, and I wasn't even giving it full throttle. Nice work on these manis Rob!

I tried to be good on the way home, but I wasn't too successful. I kept it under 4500 rpm and I did manage to keep it out of the triple digits in mph. That's good right? But I still got a speeding ticket on the way home. I can tell this is going to be an expensive upgrade. I can't wait to get my tune though, then I can really get on the car and see what it'll do - at the 1/4 track of course.

See y'all in the low 12's / high 11's very soon!

Do you hear that air flowing and resonating through the mani's? It took me a few seconds to realize that's where it was coming from.

Now Tom you know perfectly well the only help I did, was to help you eat all the Pizza "Peggy" forced you to purchase.
I'm really sorry to hear you got a ticket, that suc's.
That same type of thing happened to me about 36 years ago in my AMX. A car came up behind me and was tailgating me so close I couldn't even see his roof. I was going 35 in a 35 zone. I got pissed off so I yanked it down into 1st. light up the tires and took it up to 85 in a matter of secounds. Even took a 35 mph curve at 70 in the process.
Moments later the car (that was now way behind me) turned on his flashing lights, and wrote me up for 70 in a 35, because he didn't have radar in the car, and that was as fast as they got up to while I was pulling away from them.
Needless to say, the judge wasn't very happy with me.

Tom sorry to hear about the ticket, but aren't those intake manifolds great. And, it will get better with the tune. I have been looking at the K40 calibre radar and laser protection system (www.k40.com) that has defusers that deactivate police laser capability all using bluetooth so it is wireless. Check it out. I hope to see you at the dragon again. I was the one who drove in for Sat only and had to leave the agressive group at Deals Gap.That was a great day! Hope we can make that run together again in April.

Rob did. It's in the thread that introduces the intakes. It's also posted on his website where they're for sale (probably easier to find). Scroll all the way down to the bottom.

Keep in mind that graph shows a "stock" run. Stock in this instance means an SRT-6 with the NeedsWings Cold Air Intake, the ASP 178 pulley, and a tune from InMotion. The other two runs are with the manifolds installed. It shows a 43.7 whp and 21.6 torque increase.

I'm looking forward to the Dragon in a couple weeks! I can't wait to run that aggressive group again. It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on. I also can't wait for my tune. I hope to have it done this week, but we will see. These things have a way of taking some time.

No big deal on the ticket. I _should_ know better that to do that in an area that I'm unfamiliar with, and after dark to boot. I just consider it my "go fast" tax. Fortunately the points from Ohio don't transfer to Pennsylvania, so no points, no insurance increase, just a fine. I can live with that. The cop was nice enough to tell me that he made the ticket "so I wouldn't have to appear in court". He said the Brookfield judge doesn't like people going 20 over the limit. Big shocker there! LOL

And don't fool yourself with the 'no help' crap. If you hadn't fished that allen wrench out of the guts of the engine, we wouldn't have been able to finish, and my car would be sitting in Rick's garage right now!

Sucks about the ticket Tom, but I had a good time helping with your new toys. Quality looking pieces to be sure. I will be interested to see what kind of numbers you get after your tune.
Good friends working on Crossfires + going out to supper = a good time in my book anyday
I know you guys think I'm a little nuts, but it was cool just having 3 Crossfires in my garage all at the same time

Love seeing Crossfires all together and we have to talk about that bomb shelter of a garage!
Does the ticket suck as much as the mani's? Inquiring minds, and all.

Yeah. I have serious garage envy. Mine has just enough room to pull my two cars into it, and barely enough room to open the doors! It was really nice to work in a serious garage.

Thanks for the pics too Rick!

It looks more like an airplane hanger it is so big, it must be nice to have one like that!
