Default What to do?

Ok i have got an intake (sl55) and im looking to soon further my mods list. I would idealy love to get a crank pulley but being that i live in Australia its rather difficult, costly and time consuming as i would need to get a proper tune via LET etc. Im guessing the best route would be to get a SC pulley? I wouldnt mind a few ideas? The TC is something else i was interested in, but awaiting further results. Thanks in advance

Marcelo,

Any pulley you should decide to install, (Crank or SC) will work just fine and provide gains without an ECU tune.

Being the first to install a 185mm pulley - I was overly concerned about running lean - this turned out not to be an issue at all - perhaps its the warmer, sea level temps I live in here at paradise. I've never had an issue, ever...

I know Brisbane is pretty darn close to paridise; I've spent some time OZ land. Rented a Piper Arrow out of Redcliffe Aerodrome and flew the Gold Coast for weeks (can you say Great Kepple Island? Surfers? Port Douglas? Wow - I need to check my logbook for the other cities..) (I even flew out to Dubbo)

An ECU tune just maximizes the performance.

There must be a MB tuner in OZ - if not - have a chip socket soldered to your ECU (any decent electronic assembly house can do it, then have someone (perhaps the same house) with an EPROM reader, read and save your factory ECU parameters to a file. - I bet if you emailed that file to LET - they could flash you a new chip with tune and mail you the chip, then you could just swap chips when it arrives.

Just an idea.

Its a good idea. I was looking back at past emails and realised you pointed out i didnt need a tune. Its pretty obvious i need a pulley next. With instalation of an intake does it take time for the ecu to come to terms with the intake and improve performance. I dont know if ive improved my launch but i seem to have made even more improvements from the first time i tested it. Another car length improvement. This intake has given me easily 2+ cars improvement to 90mph.

Lacer, you may also want to consider TVT Designs' ECU download tool ($150 US). I just purchased one, and I'm waiting for it to clear customs from Germany. But the idea is that you use this cable/software combo with a PC or laptop. You download your ECU into a file on the computer. Then email it to LET or whomever your tuner is and they will email you back a file for you to upload to the car. This way you aren't shipping your ECU all over the world, it never leaves your car.

I decided to go this route because I have a datalogger and can send along log information to the tuner for a more custom tune. But I'm sure it would work even without the log data. You could include a dyno run with AFR data instead (which is cheaper than most dataloggers). Even if you don't want to datalog or dyno, LET probably has a tune for your mods. When I asked Jake (from LET/Eurocharged), he said he already had a tune setup for my mods, and he would tweak it with the data I send him.
