Car bucking before warmup?
My car acted a bit weird yesterday. It's been sitting in my driveway for the last week un-driven, as it's rained every single day for a week. I popped the hood to install my new engine badge and noticed a bunch of water collected on the plastic plate at the bottom of the engine bay (is this normal?).
Anyway there was a break in the rain so I decided to take the car out. I got on to the highway and was waiting for it to warm up at least close the the mid-way mark before getting on it. However before then I felt the car lurch like it lost all power for a split second. Bizzare- I thought maybe I hit a wet spot and traction control kicked on...however it's usually not that violent. So at the next light I turned traction control off.
As the light turned green I accelerate briskly (but no where near full throttle) and it does it again! The best way I can describe it is the car go's from pulling to completely dead for a split second and back to normal again which causes a violent jerk. No codes were thrown.
I pull over pop the hood...everything looks good, no bizzare sounds or smells. I wait a few minutes turn it back on and get back on the highway. By this time the car is fully warmed up so after a few minutes I decided to give it a punch. It never did it again and drove perfectly. ????
Does anyone know what this could have been? The only time I've ever felt anything remotely similar to this is very occasionally when the SC kicks on for the first time it feels like a brief hesitation, however not as pronounced as I during this past drive.
All input will greatly be appreciated! TIA

IAT sensor malfunction?
Sounds like what happens when the IC Pump fails, but that generally doesn't manifest unless the car is warm. If the sensor was having issues it could happen at any time. It could be intermittently shutting down the S/C.
Couldn't moisture in the fuel line or Throttle body also cause some hesitation issues?

If it was the latter is that something that has already resolved itself (ie no permanent damage).
PS I drove it today and it drove like a champ!
My NA does that too, or at least something similar, when it's cold. It feels like the tranny is not quite warmed up and is not engaging really well. But in a short bit it seems just fine. It does this consistently so i'm guessing it's just a characteristic, and it never feels like any harm's been done. just quite sluggish.

if the car was under load when the SC disengaged/engaged you would feel what could be conceived as a lurch.
