but **** buy a 2000 z28 mod it a little bit lets say on the high side you just spend 20K... or buy a 03 evo and mod that to make it as fast as the z28... you might have just spent wayyy more to make hte same power as the 2000 z28....

its hard to say it will always be cheaper.

did any one think about power to weight ratio or gearing... who know this thing might walk on a stock srt-6 pretty bad in 3rd gear... you never know. dyno pulls wont tell all.
I might be picking up a proven 10 second 2001 Z28 6sp(heads, cam, N20+more) now that my SRT is gone. Ls1's can make serious power NA with a few bolt-ons, but it's a V8 of course.

And yes, like I said dyno numbers don't win races. Maybe someone could issue a friendly challenge on the 370 forum to settle this debate.

You got rid of your SRT6?

100000000% correct.

They do compare.....stock for stock. If anything, the comparison is in the 370's favor in almost every way.

The fact of the matter, is that there just isn't a strong aftermarket for the 370 quiet yet. Virtually none of the parts for the G37 will work on the 370 because the dimensions of the cars are completely different.

I could see a car that's trapping 106mph stock getting up in the 110-112 range with an intake, exhaust, tune and even a cam. TI think they'll get into the low 12's without forced induction or spray (you had to have it for the 350 to get there).

LS motors make the biggest power with a cam. A cam isn't exactly a "bolt-on".

Many people argue that nitrous is forced induction, as well.

It just appears to me that these two accounts are the same person: TemjinX2, Tamadx

They both post 99% benchracing threads and about topics that mostly high school kids discuss. If I am incorrect then accept my apologies lol.

Regardless, benchracing is very silly and the 370z and srt6 are comparable cars, both 2 seater, v6 and rwd cars. sorry if that offends you, maybe you should hang out more on the 370z forum or something

Actually, Tamadx is a memeber over on SRTForums (has been for nearly 5 years). He knows what he's talking about.

You're in a thread talking about "bench racing" complaining about "bench racing". Maybe....you should go somewhere else? Just maybe?

Anyone seen the new 2010 2SS Camaro with the 426HP V8 at the track?

Do ya think there is enough room under that hood for a blower mod?

That's an LS3. You don't need a blower. They'll be pulling low 12's with just a tune.

Intake, exhaust, cam, tune = MONSTER

I think they're trapping 111+mph off the showroom floor. Not bad for 31-35K (if you can avoid dealer mark-up). They are what the SRT Challenger SHOULD have been.

Now why would I want to do that, I am having loads of fun in this thread!

So owning a srt4 makes tamadx a pro-bench racer/car expert? That seems to be the common mindset from srt4 guys lol. No offense intended to srt4 owners

Come on now, why would you want to actually race someone in real life when you could internet/bench race him with a million different scenarios and magazine articles? That is what is important lol!

i love bench-racing!!! this is what guys do!!! stand around and 'waft' the air with testosterone!!!! talk about cars, lifting weights etc.

anyways, i'm going to setup a race with a friend of mine next time he comes to visit.(he's about 150 miles from here.) it'll be his MT 370Z with an intake vs. my SRT6. not sure if he'll have more bolt-ons by then.

No, but apparently Jfire is, right? He's the one that started this bench racing thread, and has apparently beaten all modded 370z's that will ever be produced, so we don't have to worry about it anymore.

There are a lot of SRT-4, Turbo Dodge K-Car guys on this site. The disrespect from cockey owners of "better" cars (not namaing names) is what puts the smiles on their faces when they put bus lengths on you (err...them!).

post up a video if you can, i am sure some of these guys will have a thousand different excuses why it was not a fair race or why one would have won if they had "x" mod on the car lol. Regardless who wins, actually going out and doing it is what is important. There are a few guys on the local sites that sh*t talk constantly yet never go out and actually race, now that is hysterical. I noticed that there are a few of those types on here as well lol.

And what is your mod list!? Arent you full bolt ons, WITH needswings manifolds? You'll probably literally suck his car in through your needswings intake, and fire it out the back in a firing ball of metal.

I'd be much more interested in a stock vs stock comparison.

Show me where Jfire stated that he has "beaten all modded 370z's that will ever be produced" or even raced one?

Where did I say in this thread that my car or anyone elses car was better than the other one?

If someone beats me at the track good for them, at least I am out there and not being a baby and sitting at home typing mythical scenarios about how a race MIGHT go if I actually raced lol. That is just silly.

When it comes down to it, it is all about going out there and doing it. If one car is faster that is great, if one is slower then work on making it faster next time. As long as you are having fun who cares. Just sitting around talking about it and not actually racing is silly in my opinion. Some people like to do it though and that is great but if they would actually go out there once in a while and race they might just find out it is a hell of a lot more fun than sitting at home making up excuses and never doing anything.

Uhhh....It wouldn't be a fair race. Jfire will kill him. I figured he was meeting him to serve some purpose. Instead, this poor chump is going to drive 150 miles to get destroyed.

That's like starting a thread about how a Crossfire does against a Camaro, then have SRTpowa show up in his 10 second LS1 Z28.

Like I said, I'm be far more interested in a stock vs stock race.
