370Z... nothing to worry about.
impressive numbers for such an affordable car, but.... the 370Z isn't going to give us any trouble at the track. even with bolt-ons, the new Z isn't going to be able to hit the numbers we hit with our bolt-ons. most of us pull closer to 300hp after just an intake. and our torque is much higher as well.
YouTube - 370z Dyno relentlessrpm.com 279.6 HP and 241 ftlbsTQ
it is cool the 370Z is making the kind of power the E46 M3 was making when they first debuted!
i've seen a few of the G37's with intakes and exhaust, and they only add 5-7hp. the new VQ engine is pretty stretched for horsepower from what i've seen

I would not underestimate these cars. Dyno #'s don't mean much when it comes to racing. Stock for stock it would be close. Just peeked at their website and there is a stock auto that went 13.1@108.
2009 Nissan 370Z Automatic - Short Take Road Test - Nissan 370Z Forum
Saw some claims of 50whp with bolt-ons. Looks like a drivers race to me either way.

Quick cars yes but not going to put 50hp with just boltons ever...my wife drives a g37 and with test pipes plenum spacer and cai these mods gave the car maybe 12 hp....the cars have a hard time making any kind of power with low end boltons....but forced induction is a big difference maker for these cars...also these cars are typically 350 to 500 pounds heavier which is also a pretty big difference, but these little 370z's are pretty quick....
We have nothing to worry about....unless there is what's called a "curve" in the road. Stock for stock, they'll run heads up with an SRT-6 in a straight line, then cut it to pieces in the corners. Awesome car.
Without the benefit of forced induction from the factory, we'll always have a leg up in terms of modded performance. No news there.

The car to worry about is the new hyundai genesis coupe. 3300lbs, rwd 2.0L Turbo with a evo block for $22k. The rspec comes with stock lsd, hids, and brembo brakes for $24k.
There already guys making 389whp with a upgraded gt35 turbo and a tune.

yeah i thought interesting part is that eric stoddard designed the hyundai genesis, and sang yup lee designed the new camaro.
So you have american designing a korean car and a korean designing a american car.
Globalism at work.

its not a apples to apples comparison. FI will always produce more hp at a cheaper price then NA.
Why would anyone be surprised that a FI srt6 will respond better to bolt ons then a NA 370z.

many people on here were wondering if the 370z compares to the srt6, there are a few threads on it so this thread was made to show it makes less power. sounds like a helpful thread to me. if you do not like it then do not read it or make a new thread complaining how you do not like it when people make 370z vs srt6 threads

if youre talking about producing more with bolt on then yes most forced induction cars will be able to produce more for less money.
but **** buy a 2000 z28 mod it a little bit lets say on the high side you just spend 20K... or buy a 03 evo and mod that to make it as fast as the z28... you might have just spent wayyy more to make hte same power as the 2000 z28....
its hard to say it will always be cheaper.

did any one think about power to weight ratio or gearing... who know this thing might walk on a stock srt-6 pretty bad in 3rd gear... you never know. dyno pulls wont tell all.

i was referring to comparing NA to FI in general when its come to hp.
Not the individual cars and costs. Just like i can buy a $2k integra drop $10k into turboing it and have a 500whp for $12k but its not the same because its a different class of car compared to a srt6, so they dont really compare unless your comparing just cost per hp.
