Question best pulley?

Iv been looking and looking yes with the search and online.. my head hurts .. and don't have the cash to test em out.. i know there are a lot of diff opinions on the subject and don't want to start a war but i do need help. SRTPowa had the Code3 pulley setup with the inmotion tune on it. but sold the pulley kit (still have the tune though/ runs a lil rich) I'm wondering if there has been any more info on the different type pulley's such as long term effects, hp increase, torque and well I'm sure a lot of you know a lot more about this then me.. so thanks for your help and time beforhand

Didn't even know SRTPowa sold his car. Can you tell us what mods were left on the car that may make it easier to make a recommendation. I think he had a 178mm ASP crank pulley on there first. Can't remember.

Idle afr's are 14.7, could you get a reading of your afr's at wide open throttle thru 3rd gear? Unless the sc pulley and the 178 are still on there you should not see anything over 12's during that run. Not sure which tune he had though? Wouldn't of had Rob's tune without the mani's.

Back to your question. I would add the 178m pulley since InMotion has reliable tunes for it. You may have that tune already.

Ill check out those afr's some time this week. going to WV to pick up my daughter for a cpl weeks so when she isnt draging me from here to there :P .. it was a custome tune from inmotion so yea im prity sure its for the 178.. he told me thay would give me a free reflash though if wanted.. but so far 178 is the way to go if i keep the same tune then *nods* has there been any better reports on the other pulleys like the 181/185 and so on

It has been raining for a week here and finally quit. I am planning to take it out and do some runs today and put some miles on the car. I am hoping the ECU will adjust further and dip back down to 11ish AF. If not then I guess I will need to send the ECU back to INmotion before I put the Code 3 mid pulley on. I might be able to hit the track up next weekend if the new pulley ever comes and I can do some datalogging. 100 octane tune with meth injection could be a solution.
this was his post on March 14, 2009. So you do have a 178, cai, and mani's tune. I would just add the 178 when your ready. Just to be safe I would take it easy until you can be sure the afr's are safe up to the redline. That should be good enough to get you in the 11's in good DA.

took the car out for that check and it droped from 15 to 13 to 12 to a high 11 but once it droped to 10 for just a split sec.. but most of the time it was at high 11 to low 12 from 1st to 3rd

That sounds alot better. Find out if he has the 178 for sale and put it back on. With it on you will be 12.5's at wide open throttle and be rocking again. So assuming you do have the stock crank pulley on with basically the tune, intake, and mani's, how did the car run? Some are desiring this no pulley combo. You might have to hit the track at put some track numbers to your current setup.

Sorry Eric, I still haven't got with in-motion. I have off work monday so I will call for sure. I would leave it as is if your gonna put a pulley on it, unless you have some datalogging tools. I have the original Needswings manifold tune on there. The AF ratio with stacked Code 3 mid pulley was 11.5-12.5. Your safest bet would be to put a 178 on there, but the 185 will make more power as long as the intake temps don't get too hot. I was making 19psi with the stacked setup, so if they still make the 181 that might be a better option then going 185, since we know the tune will support it for sure.

Cruzin, the car felt pretty good with the stock pullies. I'd estimate 12.5-12.6@ 109-110(full street trim), considering It lost about 50hp once the aftermarket pullies were removed and I ran the 12.0@115 prior.

Best Pulley?
IMO the code 3 for ease of installation and price alone.

tks man its in the garage right now (keeping out of the rain) i have my daughter for a few weeks so my attention is directed there so wanted to get some more info on all this so once she goes back to her moms i can jump on it Ill have your license plate mailed back to you Monday.. well the wife will I just got to take it off. ohh and i don't have your add lol almost forgot :P

so far what i understand (and pls correct me if I'm wrong)
code 3 for ease of installation and price alone.
safest bet would be to put a 178 on.
181 if they still make them for more power.
185 for the most power at this time but got to watch the intake temps.

If i get a data logging tool should that make a difference in my choice. such as DashDAQ Touch Screen Display and Data Logger Combo, also found PLX Kiwi Wifi - Connect your iPhone / iPod Touch to your car's OBD2 OBDII Port. scene i already have the PLX wide band AFR hooked up would be cool to use my ipone with it to (as in what would be best for future upgrades)

and if I stacked the 181 with the code 3 would that be to much?

just idea's

tks for the help
