So now I jumped into the deep end!!!
Hi everyone this is my first posting and after reviewing all of the great information on this forum (for months) I decided it was time to proceed with mods for my roadster.
I just ordered Tighed1’s Modified Woody super cooler, the CM30 pump, Euro Charged 185 pulley kit and the LET ECU tune!
Hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised. If anyone knows of a reputable shop where I can get a dyno run in Louisiana or maybe a day trip away I’d really appreciate it!

Wow! All of those mods at once. Boy are you going to be pleased!
Glad I could be a part of it.
Enjoy your new toys! (and stickers).

Now that I’m addicted
I started thinking about what else I could do with the bumper removed and decided to add 55watt HID’s in the headlights and 35watt HID’s for the running lights. What else can I do that requires the bumper removal and what other modifications should I consider next? The NeedsWings intake manifolds are on my list and I’m thinking about adding the Zex wet NOS for the rare (hopefully) “holly crap” occasion (I hate to loose)!
I haven’t seen much on the forum about horsepower gains w/headers or the new Eurocharged exhaust. Jake how is the Exhaust coming along? I’m also considering the DIY belt wrap but I want to first look into fabricating a brace for the pulley, I’m not sure about one bolt holding up to the belt load and 185 pulley for long term use.
My goal is to have this car running in the 11’s this winter so if anyone has anything to offer it would be appreciated.

Don't waste your time with headers. Unless you just want a different sound, I wouldn't bother with the exhaust at all. Little gain to be had. Some even lost torque! I have the needswing manifolds and they seem well worth the $. Plus they look great.
better read this. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...go-slower.html

Ok so I just finished my first of three phases of my modifications and I cannot wait to go for a spin. I took pictures of the cm-30 pump and super cooler install This is one of the easiest modifications I've ever done thanks DJ (Tighted1). I found a really easy way of mounting the Josh pump to the original bosh brackets. If anyone is interested I'll post picks but basically I used 1 1/2 pipe insulation I had left over from another project. I put the pump in the pipe insulation and pushed everything into the bosh rubber insulator and everything went together smoothly.
While I had the bumper off I decided to pull out the headlights and polish them before installing the HIDs.
Two hours of polishing starting with 220 grit paper and ending with 1500. They turned out really good considering how bad they were.
Anyway it's time to go for a test ride. Phase 2 starts in three weeks when I tow the car up to Eurocharged for the exhaust, headers, injectors and dyno tune.
Cheers and thanks for all the information.

I would add a nice wideband O2 sensor and gauge to the list of mods so you know where your air/fuel ratio is at at all times. VERY IMPORTANT.........especially if you're gonna be adding "naaawwwwsss".
Glad to see you got the Super Cooler installed. You didn't call! Hope all went smooth.
I installed a Super Cooler on my newly acquired roadster yesterday. Took plently of pics so I'll be posting a How to Install a Super Cooler thread so folks can see how it's done.
Also separated the cooling systems.
Runs cooooool now! Now to fix that annoying exhaust whistle!

hey dj! i have the woody in my slk32 !!!!! it wasnt easy but with some careful massaging it fits. i also went with the separate i/c and engine cooling while i was in there. a definate difference in the temps even without having any datalogging equipment. just pop the hood and im able to lay my hand on the s/c!!

Cool!
Doesn't look like you have clearance for the hose on the SLK. Is it gonna work? I'm sure Needswings would be interested to know that it'll fit the SLK also (if they already don't know).
On the SRT a 27", 5/8" hose routed from the intercooler to the upper Super Cooler inlet underneath the head light allows the use of the Needswings CAI. It will all make sense once I do the How to on the Super Cooler Install.

Hey Tighe1,
Do you happen to know the weight difference between the stock cooler with fluids and the supercooler with fluids?
SLK32 wow putting your hand on the SC after a good hard run is impressive. I can't even do that after 1 pass in the summer.
Thanks,
Cruzin

I'll tell ya what, just for you I will fill the stock HE up then the Super Cooler and weigh both. Sure others would like to know also.
Stay tuned.....

dj thats how i ran the upper inlet hose. under the passenger headlight. plenty of room. heres a couple pics of the upper and lower hoses
slk32germany has added the needswings supercooler to his so i was fairley sure it would fit. as for the cai im not sure, there isnt much room for a set of cone filters. maybe something in a flat filter im not sure
cruzinquick just to clarify before you couldnt get near the s/c aftewr 10 min. of running. now i ran the car for 20 min to bleed the system and was able to touch the s/c. not for long though!! but i could lay my hand on it

Wow the car is running great! I highly recommend the super cooler. It was 97 deg. with 60% humidity in New Orleans today and I never had heat issues at all, even the A/C was ice cold without issues.
I did notice the fan was running more in city traffic than before maybe 15% more. That is not an issue.
I'm posting a few picks of the cm-30 install and a the super cooler. More pictures shortly.

Glad the Super Cooler is working so well for ya!
Sorry I didn't get my "How to Install a Super Cooler" post out in time for your install. Sounds like you did a great job!

Also make sure you have power steering fluid on hand. I was able to purchase a liter from our local VW dealership for $21.95.
I’ll post more pics when I get a chance.
