Question SRT-6 Muffler?

Ive noticed the non SRT-6 mufflers seem to be "clean" like so.

My SRT exhaust when I got the car was completely black. The tips were quite dirty, (honostly it didnt really bother me. Didnt "stick out". Anyways, the other day I used some turtle wax chrome polish and they cleaned right up. However inside the tips stayed black.

Does anyone know if the all crossfire mufflers should be clean like the first pic? Or are some owners just super "****" about cleaning the "tips" (i know that sounds bad)

So are srt mufflers black on the inside stock? Do SRTs just burn/use that much oil? Or is mine just that caked on after never being cleaned after 29k miles?

Mine look just like this

ACRucrazy,

I believe that the SRT has the insides of the tips painted black. I read somewhere here that a member scrubbed his to clean them only to discover they were painted.

Couldn't you find another shinny example? It's not like FP needs any encouragement

Stay safe...

Respectfully,

FP's tips are clean because his is car is really slow.

SRT-6 tips are painted black. With some elbow grease and chrome polish, the paint will come off. I like the black tips and left mine that way.

Agreed, I like it black but seeing the pics of all the clean tips got me wondering.
