small battery test
I have been running this 280 cca small battery for two weeks now as a test,, the cost is under 100. and for under 200. i can get a 600cca.. it weighs 10lbs.. jim
I got mine from Rage-tec 954-915-0016 they have this batt in a lot of srt-4's and some srt-8's one in a new challenger i think.. no tickle charger, just the car's charging system
I don't think it makes the alt work any harder ,your car starts on the batt and then it charges the batt and runs the car. they have had a few in srt-4's for over a year,, and found out today there is one in a srt-8 jeep, it has been there for about 6 mo now. jim
Really? well if it passes in a SRT-8 shouldn't have any problems in our cars, it'l save alot of weight thats fore sure not to mention how much cheaper they are to replace. Good find!!
Interested in your results, just wondering how you secure the battery and if you needed to rewire much. At my job Ive access to slightly damaged "employee sales" batteries that are OK, just cant be sold to the public. I get them for 10 bucks and at that price its a mod Id be interested in

954-915-0016 also www.rage-tec.com tell them you are interested in the batt. with jim's discount for a crossfire. I think it will be 99.00 + shipping jim
I am saving about 35 lbs with this batt.. the only concern is (for some of you not me ) the winter, will it work in cold weather? here in Ft. Lauderdale i don't have cold weather, and if i did i would move south, your thoughts on it working in cold weather? jim
i wouldn't use that battery in the winter up here, would go back to the stock one. Wonder if it could handle 3-4 starts while i go down the staging lanes at the track. I normally have the car off as much as possible while at the track to keep the SC and SC coolant cold.

I had a DEKA ETX14(Braille) about the same size. Never had any problems unless I let the car sit for more than 2 weeks. Bought a trickle charger and put it on there if the car wasn't driven for a while.

Don't waste your time with the Braille aluminum mount kit, though. It's heavy and way overpriced. i originally ordered it then sent it back. The basic mount that comes with the battery works fine, looks good, and is much lighter. Here's the full line-up of Braille products at Tire Rack:
